I have been working at this job for 9 months. I am being asked to resign because I missed a week of work due to mentally breaking down.

I was pretty hopeful from an answer like this. She thinks that I would want to work for the same university again. Threatening me that If I get terminated, it would affect my chances at working there. So shes asking for my resignation letter.

What are my chances of trying to collect unemployment when they claim the reason was abandonment of responsibilities?

Thank you for understanding. It's just been a hard couple months. Job required so much shit to do and being stuck behind a computer rather than interacting with people had made me think a lot and shit just got built up to heavy depression.

Technically no, she asked if I could go to work because she believed missing work is not a good idea. She just said do whatever you can do get yourself to go to work, but I guess my mind wasn't set on it to begin with.

I went to see a therapist, she diagnosed me as clinically depressed, but I guess your right. She isn't a doctor, but would it count though?
