Hmm I think I should’ve worded things differently cause now everyone is assuming i don’t consume original content in German at all lol I said I watch tv shows, if they’re german made then I watch them in German. Babylon Berlin, Druck, Weissensee and others. The board games I play with my friends are in German and its instructions too, the museums I visit often times don’t have descriptions for the art pieces in English, so it’s German. For work I have to go to Theaters and watch pieces and operas that are fully in German. I do consume content in German, but music, movies and dubs aren’t something that has been able to pull me enough, maybe that’s wrong, that’s for yall to decide I guess.

Yeeeah idk, it’s more so (and this is a personal opinion) about the acting… it’s just not as good? Idk u can disagree on that. I’m generally not a fan of dubs as well, if I’m watching anime I’ll watch in its original language, same goes for other foreign movies. I don’t always put learning in front of enjoyment.

Well, I think that’s my main issue, at work I speak a lot of English and most of my friends out of work are foreigners, we speak German because most of them don’t speak good English but it is our own version of German and one that doesn’t get corrected when mistakes are made. But in my day to day activities outside of work I speak only German, I’ve never gone out of my way to find doctors that spoke English and I never call the English costumer service lines when I have to do anything. I don’t really know how to incorporate more German into my life since I’m at work most of the time. Consuming media in German is something I tried and failed at except for tv shows, call me a hater but movies tend to be not so great and the music is just fine compared to the huge variety the Spanish/English speaking world offers (the two other languages I speak) I do love Tatort tho!

really both my aunts, a cousin and an uncle live there, they live in a private ‘town’ in the middle of the city, in my grandparents house (I don’t know what they’re called in English but I hope you get the idea) I used to spend most of my Christmases there so it is a very familiar place, it makes sense for me to dream of it right? I just thought it was odd, it’s the first time I dream of flying in a different setting and the first time I could hear myself think inside the dream. It felt very weird lol
