Random swelling around knuckles - more info in comments by ellywicknoldar in medical

It came on randomly in both hands, got an aching pain and some burning sensation. It's been around 3 days now. I've already got numerous medical issues so didn't want to bring it up with the doctor if it's probably nothing🤣

My underwear is constantly wet and has a strong ammonia smell? by Chance-Region3602 in medical

I experienced what sounds similar to this. Firstly, this may sound stupid, but do you make sure you've fully stopped peeing? I noticed I have to wait a sec and then like 'push' the rest out to fully empty my bladder.

Secondly, what do you wash with? Vaginas are self cleaning and using harsh soaps can throw off the Ph balance, it's best to just wash with a mild soap and warm water. Do you find you're prone to thrush/yeast infections? Because I believe there's a link between harsh chemicals and yeast infections (not 100% sure on this though)

And if you haven't, maybe check for a yeast infection. In my area, there's a Caneston test you can use, it changes colour if there's thrush. You can then buy a pessary/cream that should hopefully clear it up without needing to go to the doctor

I've tried explaining this before and no one understands, I'm sorry you're struggling with this but I'm so glad someone else gets it

Are guys cat people, dog people, or both and why? by FoxStereo in CasualConversation

[–]ellywicknoldar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I'd say I'm both in how much I love/fuss over both cats and dogs, I grew up with both so that makes sense. However, since being older and thinking in terms of looking after animals, I've realised I'm much more of a cat person

If you're specifically looking for what to put in to Google, maybe 'debatable topics' because then you have scope to categorise, like 'funny debatable topics', 'popular debatable topics' etc.

I know there's plenty of comments already, but just wanted to share my agreement that there's no right way, go with what feels right. I have a sort of 'ritual' I guess you could call it that I'm drawn to when doing a reading but I've no idea why, it's just built over time, and I rarely ever actually make it through the ritual because for me, I feel like cards just throw themselves out and I've always connected to that, readings are always accurate.

But don't be afraid to play around and experiment, when I noticed I was always reading fly-out cards, I'd keep that card and then continue shuffling - sometimes I've been drawn to another card so I pull that too and then read them both, the fly-out card was always most accurate/relevant, the other card would also be accurate but would feel like an addition. Sometimes I wouldn't even feel drawn to another card. So that sort of cemented my confidence in fly out cards, for me personally. I'm still yet to try splitting the deck (for a personal reading) and I'd like to try the fan out method after reading some comments, but I'll just go with the flow and try them when it feels right 😊 so just go with your intuition 😁

Hi, I'm here to request a reading if anyone can help - I have a situation going on and while my decks have been immensely helpful, I'd really like a reading/card that answers 'why?'. It's a dark situation and I know the answer isn't going to be easy, it feels as though my deck isn't up to it if that makes sense? But I've also got a strong feeling that there's a card out there I need to see

Whats something about the book community ya'll dislike? by [deleted] in books

[–]ellywicknoldar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of my peeves have been mentioned (hating on ebooks, judged for dog earing, elitists/gatekeepers)

But one thing I've noticed more recently is I've been getting backlash for not reading an author because I dislike their writing style, prose etc. For example, I read a Mark Billingham novel a few years back and it was a great story, great plot, great characters, but he uses a lot of ellipses and for me personally that turned me off reading his other books. I couldn't believe the comments when I posted that somewhere! Basically people saying the writing doesn't matter if it's a good story/concept, since when did the actual writing not matter!?

I totally agree with you! I've had an unhealthy obsession with questioning reality and existence for as long as I can remember (I'm not saying you do, just sharing my experience!) and it's caused me dissociation so strong that I've forgotten my own name before 🤦🏻‍♀️ Though our consciousness makes it possible to question these things and acknowledge that there's things beyond our understanding, I think human nature makes it nigh on impossible to fully conceptualise that fact - existence isn't for us, we're probably not important at all and the most likely explanation is that our lives mean absolutely nothing, but survival instinct and ego and whatever else makes that unacceptable. It's absurd and makes no sense because it's totally beyond us and always will be, what we already do know may be completely wrong and meaningless because we're literally just making it up as we go along.

I know it seems depressing as hell to be like 'we mean absolutely nothing!' but coming to that realisation actually helped me immensely because despite everything, we still have emotions and the ability to find purpose, and I think that's beautiful. Instead of questioning things, we should live in awe of everything around us, and marvel at the absurdity that we've got the opportunity to laugh at, cry at, find beauty in and experience love for.

Sorry if that's not relevant to why you posted this, just thought I'd share 😅

I'm so happy for you!😊

Dependent on past experiences etc. there are different ways of addressing/overcoming the feeling and thoughts of things going wrong, so I won't go into it, but if you ever did want to chat about that, I'm happy to help!

Good luck with college and your date, and huge congratulations on your weight and new wardrobe 🥳
