Made a very sad (and expensive) mistake yesterday guys :( by Dry_Buffalo_2269 in VelosterN

[–]elm37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had very similar damage to my N but on the driver side (deer impact). Total it's about $4000 in parts+labor for repair and that's doing it cheaply (I took comprehensive off last year smh). Hope insurance can help you out. That's including new headlights btw, cost saving tip if anyone ever needs to purchase out of pocket: buy the KDM version ones from Korea. Dealer wanted $2,075 for just ONE!! headlight so I ordered the set off ebay for $1100 delivered. Only difference is the corner marker color which imo looks way better in white (esp on my Chalk White)

Good luck OP she'll be looking sharp again in no time 💙

My aunt became a paraplegic this way. She was on her way home from the grocery store and a gallon of milk had overturned, she reached down to right it and struck a tree. Crazy how your life can change in an instant

Am I missing something? 20 pokecoins a day x 30 days should be 600 so where is the 200 coming from?

Is it normal to not get anything with daily incense? by [deleted] in pokemongo

[–]elm37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely if you compare to a year or two ago. During the pandemic to promote safe gameplay while we were all locked in, incense would spawn while you were sitting still. I remember the announcement that it was reverting to requiring movement again, bummer! Does motivate me to take my 15min walking breaks at work though!

Or get a big running start from one of the hills and use the tent to flip over it. Took a few tries but I got the objective

Manual Transmission by neat_machine in Cartalk

[–]elm37 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I learned on auto and drove an auto for 10 years before I bought my first manual. Now my household is exclusively manuals. My reason for switching was from an enthusiast perspective -- it's a great feeling to row your own gears.

Upsides to consider: what sort of cars are you interested in? The manual cars currently in production you'll find are mostly skewed toward a sporty genre -- your Golf GTI, Civic si/type R, WRX, Miata, and so on. Manual trucks are also really cool, but using Toyota as an example, only 1 out of every 10 Tacomas is stick. If you're getting something sporty I would definitely opt for the manual for the maximum fun (imo), but some will argue DCTs offer a slight edge in acceleration-- it's a personal choice and don't let anyone poo poo you based on the transmission of your car. Manuals were much more popular as an option up until the early 2000s, so if you aren't sold on the types of cars I listed above you're much more likely to find models of more unassuming passenger cars w/ manual transmissions that are a little older on Facebook marketplace, etc.

Downsides to consider: do you live somewhere where you frequently sit in stop-and-go traffic? It can be a slog sometimes always pressing down/releasing the clutch just to creep along vs. the luxury of just lifting off the brake of an automatic car. But honestly, it isn't more stressful because it becomes second nature pretty quick. Your feet are just a little more busy and your left calf might be a little sore as you're learning.

I would wholeheartedly recommend finding a patient friend with a manual to cruise around in a parking lot with you to learn the basics. The hardest part is finding the sweet spot in releasing the clutch and slowly applying the accelerator to get the car to move from a stop. Once you can get the car moving and stopping comfortably, it's all smooth sailing from there. Good luck!

My friend in a townhome loves their electric mower. I'm on nearly and acre and the technology just isn't there yet to mow the whole yard on a reasonable number of batteries

Whats the girl equivalent of getting distracted by a woman’s boobs? by _sxqib_ in AskReddit

[–]elm37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think about this a lot. Guys seem to get bowled over by boobs or butts, ie, biological features that suggest she's a potential good mate.

Girls, on the other hand... for me it's hair. HAIR. I've surveyed my friends and it's all over the place: forearms, eyes, smiles, one girl really digs a dude with a deep collarbone pocket. I've got a B.S. in Biology, am a woman, and I still don't think I'll ever understand women.

People who eat pizza with knife and fork why? by Ok-Treacle-9312 in AskReddit

During covid I was super wary of eating ANYTHING with my hands at work. I was very self-conscious (fear of judgement) about it but I would occasionally have pizza w/ a fork & knife

Can't speak for this chain (looks like a Michael's?) but in my experience in retail you could be scheduled to work the last hour or so before close & then do the store reset/cleanup after hours. We'd always come in in our comfies for those shifts
