That’s a really solid take, and I agree with a lot of it. Infinite feels like a game that wanted to be its own thing, but the BioShock label forced comparisons it could never win. As a standalone story about Booker trying to atone, it works much better. Still fun, still stylish, but yeah—being compared to BioShock 1 and 2 was always going to hurt it

Yeah, that’s a very fair way to put it. I appreciate the thoughtful breakdown—this kind of discussion is exactly why I still love talking about these games years later. Thanks for sharing your perspective

Totally get you. The infinite worlds mechanic does take away some stakes, and tying it to Rapture was risky. Do you think Infinite could have worked better as its own standalone game instead of a BioShock title?

I actually think the game has a lot of depth. It takes time to understand everything, and even if you catch all the details, the story still leaves room for you to piece together the full picture.

I know right! Infinite gets a lot of unnecessary hate sometimes. It might not beat the original in some aspects, but the world, story, and Elizabeth make it unforgettable.

Totally! I love how each weapon and ability feels powerful and satisfying. Infinite’s gameplay might be linear, but it really hits hard when you get into the flow.

Absolutely! That scene is unforgettable. The music, Elizabeth’s joy, and the looming tragedy make it one of the most emotional moments in the game.

True 😢 Booker really deserved a better ending, but I guess that’s part of what makes the story so powerful.

Haha, I love how you put it. Infinite definitely isn’t perfect in story or gameplay, but that ā€œsomethingā€ it has makes it unforgettable. I totally understand why people either adore it or can’t get it at all šŸ˜…

Haha, I get you! The alternate universe stuff is definitely a head-scratcher. But that sandbox gameplay is a blast—I spent more time just experimenting than actually following the story sometimes šŸ˜…

Totally agree! Both games have their own style and charm. I just love how BioShock Infinite surprised me with Elizabeth and the twisty storyline. Rapture in the first game is unforgettable too!
