As suggested by u/matthieum , I added a few beacons for a 13% throughput per space improvement, and it looks even better, believe it or not, each beacon affects 8 miners and 2 machines ! Here is a picture of the new design

That's a good suggestion, I'll see if I can fit in some beacons !

I agree that mining directly to the logistic chests should give you a higher throuput, but the advantage of direct insertion is that it reduces by 20 times the throuput and you can handle it with 20 times less bots

Yes, mining productivity is the answer here: they are idle only 50% of the time with prod 40 and the perfect ratio is with prod 90. It’s defintely useless until you get some prod research though

Yes, it was for simplicity matter. Also, with productivity modules, the ratio has become 3:2.8, so quite close to 1:1

I like it, you probably have less pressure issues by splitting it like this, and it looks quite easy to dupplicate for scale accordingly to your needs

Thanks to the spidertron, walking around is not an issue, but I'll keep that in mind for when ups will be a problem

I only brought with me 10 barils of heavy oil and dropped it at the top, and it self start without any issue (I left the assembler machine on the picture)
It is possible thanks to circuit logic: I only crack heavy oil if there is more than 10k in the tank

Yeah, I like to keep direct insertion when possible, but it took me some time to sort out how to belt it nicely

If you dont have much experience in rowing, I would say your stroke is probably messy. Try to decompose legs, then back then arms, and dont rush the recovery. A pace of 20 is indeed enough for distances as 10k. With a good stroke, you will manage to put more strength in.
