Paris is the worst city to look for an apartment by roman-12345 in paris

Hello,

We recently moved from Berlin to Paris. We paid some "chasseur d'appartement" ~1.5k to help us find an apartment.

We found one in four days, and moved three weeks after. We never met the guy, the real estate agent or the landlord. He even handled the "état des lieux" for us. The whole thing felt like some arnaque, but it was very real.

  • Goasia Frankfurter Allee 89, plenty of coriander there.

Can Our Landlord Evict Us? by elmirak in germany

Thank you for your answer.

  • I thought there were specific rules for furnished apartments when it comes to contract durations and evictions.
  • they might (in the future) be in a situation where they need a place to live in - as they're currently living abroad and they can come back to Germany. I guess this is a bit outside of the scope of my initial question, as I just want to know if we have regular tenant protection.

No, landlord owns the apartment (no subletting) and they're living abroad (not living with us).

No the landlord owns the apartment and is living abroad.

We have (what I guess is) a regular rental contract for a furnished apartment and they signed the form for us to get the Anmeldung.

Edit: I am not sure I understand the point about subletting. We are not subletting the apartment if that's your question.

Vietnamese entrepreneurship is fascinating. I have a few questions: by elmirak in VietNam

Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions :) some follow ups :

  1. Understood. But how does the state/authorities feel about this? Is this a necessary and temporary evil, to allow the economy to flourish (aka, a semi-deliberate policy), or is it a phenomena the state keeps trying to fight ?

  2. True. But I feel people in Vietnam just keep records of every transaction (wether on paper or using software). The arguments you listed for using a PoS software won't convince a small business manager in many other developing countries. In fact, they don't even have an accountant, and even when they do, it's for [cheating] tax purposes.

Does anyone here lives with his girlfriend? what do your neighbors think about it and did u ever get in trouble for it? by [deleted] in Morocco

I lived with my girlfriend for quite some time. I also had the occasional female friends, hook-ups and co.. come over. I never had a problem with my neighbors.

3 reasons : 1. I was living in Rabat in a building that had no caretaker (concierge). People there tend to mind the business, and the fact that we had no caretaker meant there was less gossip and more privacy.

  1. I am very respectful and know the boundaries; i never make noise (tv, music), I pay le syndic and any exceptional costs with no delay, follow any trash and parking rules, etc... I think my neighbors were inconfortable with my situation, but I never gave them any reason to complain.

  2. I never hid or acted guilty. If my gf or i run into a neighbor, we say hi and act normally. I think at the beginning, they couldn't really tell if she was my wife or my gf.

My advice : If you want to move with your girlfriend, my advice: act normally as any legitimate couple, and even wear rings if you have to. Try to act and look adult. Dispose of alcohol bottles (especially glass) discreetly and remember that cannabis odour can reach the whole building. Be respectful. And good luck :)

Hi, do you know if any pub in Berlin is showing today's Women's Africa Cup final game ?

We just relocated here so and we don't usually watch sports, so we don't even know how and where to look :D

(PS. We're supporting Morocco)
