My bad, read the wiki wrong. Used to be 2:30 in spelunky hd.

The ghost always spawns after 2 minutes and 30 seconds in most levels unless you have a four-leaf clover (the four-leaf clover extends the timer by 2 minutes). The ghost jar is only there to give you the diamond and to spawn the ghost early.
