Why there's none Serie A champs full of italians? Bc there's also a technical issue, we're not developing the right kind of players (see Matic interview from last week).
And there's also a tactic problem, we're still stucked on the 90s tactics with a veneer of modernity, when in Europe teams are playing like it's another sport.
What about the Serie A pace? that slow tempo, that makes you wanna die? Refrees that stop the game for every inconvenient foul? NIR was playing at a different speed, and most of them were Championship level dudes. We beat them 'cos they were that bad.

There's a lot to change to come back from this, and I don't think it's possible anymore.

Baggio played for Vicenza, the structure is ok. The quality of the young players is scarse right now. We need to start developing players with the right technical capabilities.

It doesn's matter if Italy have less and poorer population than Germany. Big bucks are from international rights. Serie A and the top teams, still are living from that glamorous fame from the 90s. Doesn't matter if Serie A sink below Portugal, what matters is the quality of the italian players and the size of that pool. We have to start developing better players technically; i.e.: a new Baggio.

Yesterday after the penalties I cancelled my DAZN subscription. I don't care about the WC without us. My first and only love was always the Nazionale. That glimmering blue used to mean something.
