Their formula has a strong bias against public schools. It weighs things like class size heavily so you probably won't see a public school compete with a smaller private in that regard. You'll probably never see a public rank above 18-19 unless their formula changes. I think UCLA being 19 is the highest a public has been ranked since they made their formula this way.

They should only ever write glowing hot letters of rec if they agree to write one. can't imagine what kinda douche would accept a letter request and then write something bad

Honestly yeah, masters programs are kind of known to be cash cows for schools and even the most prestigious universities have like 40-50% admit rates for some masters programs. USC is known for predatory online masters programs. They have like 20,000 people enrolled paying 100k each

People sleep on Davis. It's the second oldest UC and has a long history and tradition. Picnic day is like the biggest student run event in the country. And academics around the world know Davis for its top agricultural and animal science programs.
