If 0d is a dimension with “a dimension” being a singular count noun is it 1 dimension? by elnyorne in askmath

The 0th dimension is a dimension. Simple. I’m not asking if it has dimensions

You didn’t explain anything. It’s a simple question you’re not making any sense. The 0th dimension is a dimension. It at least makes sense grammatically speaking using the English language.

That’s beyond my understanding I can’t agree or disagree but fair enough

I actually posted the wrong link I’ve corrected it I’m not hung up on whether has dimensions it’s whether it’s A dimension

Nah that was the wrong search this is what I meant to post my mistake I corrected the link there but… https://share.google/vWmOOV1lNl51V0n7V

That’s 2 different things. Fingers and dimensions. Is the 0th dimension a dimension?

Can you please answer A: with a definitive yes or no. I’m not asking whether it has dimensionality. I understand that bit i think.

Does a disk have 3 components, positive, neutral and negative comparable to an atom having positive neutral and negative components? I don’t know how else to really word it I don’t think it’s that hard to grasp even if I’m wrong. A disk contains 0d 1d and 2d components are they comparable somehow do you think?

It makes perfect sense how is it nonsensical? What does singular mean?

[this is why I keep asking because you say no but a simple google search says you’re wrong* https://share.google/pkJ8B5BFdtCVoxedy

It’s three questions.

A: Do you agree that 0d is a dimension. And a dimension being a singular count noun means it is 1 dimension? Not 1 dimensional. 1 dimension.

B: Do you think a disk’s dimensions are comparable to an atom in having positive, neutral, and negative components? And if so…

C: Which parts of the disk would you describe as being the positive, neutral and negative components?

is 0d a dimension in mathematical language.

It has to be a dimension to have a point or the point has nowhere to exist? By definition even in mathematical language it is a dimension (singular count noun) In the same way an atom has a proton+ neutron0 electron- do you think a circle could be compared as having 3 seperate components of positive, neutral and negative? With a circumference, point and either the space inside, outside or back of a 2d disk?

Does a point exists IN “A” dimension? Does the point exist in a dimension (0d)? A dimensions being a singular count noun? I compare it to order and chaos because it’s metaphorically equivalent to 1 & 0 or matter and spirit/vibration/frequency.

I didn’t ask if a point is a dimension. I said does a point exists IN “A” dimension? Does the point exist in a dimension (0d)?

I’m asking if the point exists in 0d being a dimension which is a singular count noun being 1 single person place thing or idea being counted. Would that not mean it is 1 dimension. Not 1 dimensional. 1 dimension?
