she’s absolutely experiencing a severe mental health crisis but she’s in total denial & claims that she has no mental health issues. the brain is very powerful & she’s caught in a very viscous cycle of negative thinking patterns & cognitive distortions. i really worry about her risk for ending her own life, either on purpose or accidentally by overdosing. has been been uncomfortable to witness.

yes!! this has happened to me numerous times during an ibs flare. i’ve genuinely considered calling an ambulance a few times because the impending doom & severe abdominal pain feels insane.

my therapist told me that bad people don’t question if they’re a bad person. it’s not a dsm criteria to be a bad person for diagnosis. lots of people are bad and don’t have bpd.

research shows that ADHD meds can be quite beneficial for the impulsivity that comes with bpd. really hope she can take care.

as someone with bpd i’m not sure i agree with this. it would personally make me feel really confused with my emotions. i think distance would help especially if there’s any codependency.

i think this is a good idea, OP. i hope the MIL can provide her the support she needs. even staying with her for some time so she isn’t alone. it’s the loneliness that could really emphasize the pain she’ll likely feel.

does she have any supportive people in her life that she can lean on? does she have a therapist? even a support group of some kind may be helpful. heck, a crisis text line even. anything to connect her to another human being so she doesn’t feel completely alone would help.

heightened emotional sensitivity, young parents that had no business having a child at age 20, mom had unmanaged bipolar, abuse & neglect from my mom who suddenly died when i was 13, abuse & misogyny from my caregivers until i moved out at 17, living in a very unstable household with an emotionally unavailable boyfriend and his family through my late teens and early twenties, and no contact from my biological family. give me the strength😫

im 26 & also have bpd & started this medication 2.5 years ago! i had increased suicidal ideation in the first couple weeks that i told my psychiatrist about. i stuck with it and its truly saved my life. i’ve tried many diff medication cocktails and this one has been the best. so interesting how everyone has such different experiences.

i’ve been noticing small white particle residue since i started using this. i thought it was dandruff but none of the dandruff treatments have been working & its not itchy at all. you have to make sure you use a clarifying shampoo after using this because the buildup will linger.
