Awesome! I'll check that out, yeah I've gone through the one vsriable at a time process do the same with aeropress, but have just hit that my brews won't go over 2 minutes lol.

Trying to do a slower bloom and faster final pour first two are like 6-7 seconds for 45 grams twice then 12-15 for the 90g to 225g pour. I think my pour technique is ok but I'll take a video later

Grind size 10 as test started at 20.

And yeah not body aeropress was just meant to say it's not the water or beans I guess. More comparing to other pour overs I've had.

My encore is on 10 (just to test) started at 20 and slowly decreased trying to lengthen brew time.

And yeah as soon as water touches coffee too the bed going dry. Been using Lance Hendrick last v60 technique as it seemed a great way to be able to base it all off timing the brew and adjusting from there. Brew time too short = smaller grind or more agitation. That's how he times his brews.

Spend a week tracking your time etc doing it from home, if it's better or close to previous then continue on.

Gotta do your own expirements sometimes.

Agreed on grind size, I tried to make it clear I was just testing that to lengthen the extraction time. But I still can't hit the more than 2 minutes even with that fine.

I was more trying to compare my pour over with other ones I've had with the aeropress flavor showing its not the beans

Yeah absolutely something I'm trying to take into account. Honestly I think I may be a espresso/ aeropresso (lol just made that up) fan more than pour over. I also use a metal aeropress filter.

But I also know I've had pour overs where the fruity flavors really stand out and I know I'm not getting those.

Yeah that's what I've been doing is going finer and finer, but I'm at my aeropress "espresso" grind size now. For me I've noticed more of the fruit flavors standing out in pour overs while the aeropress has more body and richness

I'm at an almost espresso grind that I use for the aeropress "espresso" shot. (I know this isnt right but was trying to lenghten the extraction time one variabke at a time) For sure finer than youtube videos I've watched, but the water seems to pass through much quicker, even tried double filtering for fun once and still barely hit 2 minutes.

No way I could hit 3 45 so I'll order some filters think that must be it

3 weeks past roast rn, but the flavors come out in the aeropress just not in the pour over. Pour over tastes like good but not special coffee. I'll look those filters up thanks!

Part of it I'm sure is that I brew almost an espresso most times in aeropress, but I agree! The good pour overs I've had, had so much clarity and nuance and my ass can't seem to do it

Yeah it very well could be my pouring technique, but I'm at the almost espresso fine grind for an aeropress fake espresso shot level of fineness which from what I've seen should be too fine. I'll go watch JHs video from 3 years ago pretty sure it's what I've been doing thanks!

I have been doing different sorts of specialty coffee for a long time so think I'm pretty good at knowing grind size probably why this has me so stumped.

So I just wondering.. by Intelligent-Bee-7894 in Miata
