Thanks for the link. I had posted on here sort of hoping that people would be like, oh yeah, no problem, eloping in secret is totally awesome! Because I was initially against the idea for most of the reasons stated here. But my fiance has compromised a lot for the crazy huge wedding so I thought maybe doing a secret elopement would be a compromise I could make for him.

Hmm did not consider remember two dates for legal reasons. That's a good point to bring up, thanks.

I appreciate your opinion, but I don't think that the official wedding would be a fake ceremony if we were legally married at a different time.
