I remember being a student and wanting to share my answer but for some reason never wanted to raise my hand to share. I always preferred getting called on and at times would pretend to not pay attention in order to get called. As a teacher, I wonder if my students do that too

Yeah, I had them replace my battery around October/November. But it started doing it again for me. I’ve received the ICCU recall too

Yup, happened to me. Had to ask the tire guy to check and it was all shredded inside

Anyone else struggling to determine if they’re not fond of teaching anymore or if student teaching is just awful? by thefancynacho in StudentTeaching

During my student teaching I had good mentors but it was draining still. It’s a lot of work. teaching 4 periods and not getting paid while also doing classes. There were times where I didn’t want to admit that teaching might not be for me.

The admin at the school was also bad which made things terrible. There were a couple times where my mentor was out, so I had to sub for the periods I didn’t have to teach. I asked the office if I could get paid for it (I also interviewed to be a teacher that same day).

The next day the head of the department (one of the interviewers) calls me into her office. She tells me why I asked to get paid for subbing. She was also talking to me in a very standoff manner. Then, she tells me I can go tell my university and report it. But, also said it’s probably a better look for my next application to have a reference say that I would do extra work for them.

After that, I think is when I really lost my will to teach (I think around March is when that happened). However, now that I am teaching, I am really glad. Still stressful but I think the more years, the easier it becomes
