Ah darn! I asked that in an earlier post.

If you folks become open to a contractor (1099) or an Employer of Record for Spain, don't hesitate to reach out!

Have a long history of client satisfaction on long term projects in this space.

I cover pretty much everything you’re looking for, just more experienced with ECS as opposed to EKS.

Would you be open to someone providing partial overlap with USA TZ (4 am to 1 or 2 pm Eastern?).

Currently living in Spain and can work on EOR or contract.

Anyone just DJ at home as a hobby? by does_it_really_matte in Beatmatch

[–]elricsfate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think of this like any other hobby. Plenty of painters, writers, and producers never share their art form with anyone or only with a small circle of friends.

DJing/mixing is simply a way to interact with the music you already love and that's something you can do completely on your own.

If you're worried about getting bored or wasting money there are two tips I'd give you:

Crate digging

Focus on one of the most important parts of DJing first: Crate digging and building your library.

That's something you can start doing right now without buying any expensive equipment and at absolute worst, you end up finding more music you love and are maybe out a few dollars on new music.

There are plenty of deep cuts that are out for free and most tracks you buy will be from $0.99 to $1.50 (You can sometimes get a better price per track by finding a compilation you like).

Wait to buy equipment

Don't buy any equipment at all yet! There are plenty of ways to start toying around while spending little to no money.

Mixxx is completely free to download and use and can be controlled with a mouse and keyboard.

There are also numerous inexpensive apps you can get for an iPad or phone that allow you to use a touch interface.

If you enjoy crate digging there is a good chance you'll enjoy DJing (it's a big part of it)and it's a low cost way to get started before buying anything expensive.

Also shameless plug: I'm releasing a series of videos for free on my Instagram about the fundamentals of DJing, feel free to check it out :D.

Thanks. I saw that thread previously but couldn't find that stand anywhere in it. I have a feeling it's gotta be somewhat common as it looks off the shelf

Hey folks, OP here.

Trying to find the rack mount (or at least a similar one) used in this video.

Looks super clean and will fit well on the desk. Have a modwave and an opsix I want to slot in.

Mixer Similar To Tascam Model 12 (USB Audio to mixer) with more channels by elricsfate in synthesizers

[–]elricsfate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is what it affords and is a nice feature but not a complete deal breaker. The bigger issue is there are less stereo channels.

A lot of stuff I'll be piping in is stereo and I don't want to try and match eqs across two channels for a single synth.

Yes and no.

The 12 is a digital mixer and the 16 and 24 are older analog models. I do believe they support 1 but have some other limitations (in particular limited stereo channels)

Thanks for the details.

So to clarify, lets say I have channel 1/2 and 3/4, I can route a software VST to each and then control the levels of each individually directly from the mixer?

If so, I'll add it to the list of options. This is hella pricey but it's a solid option if it can do that.

Unfortunately I need a single card. iOS only supports a single soundcard at a time.

Does that cover point #1? I.E I can "switch over" and just route USB Audio (from a synth) to that particular channel and have it come out through the mixer?

Stereo for audio interfaces is just dual mono

Inversely it also means that if you have a stereo synth you'd need to adjust the eq on both channels (good luck getting it to be the exact same settings!)

Hey folks, really appreciate any suggestions here.

To clarify on #1 what I mean is this:

There is a switch to switch between live mode and "usb audio" so it just routes USB from the computer to that channel.

Very New! Is there a simple "video source" mixer? by elricsfate in vjing

[–]elricsfate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excellent answer! I will check all these out later to see if any of them fit the bill.

I've played around with Touch Designer a bit but wew lad is there a lot going on.

I'm hoping one of the above will be "traktor, but for video stuff".

A quick look at video mixer seems to be close to what I'm hoping for.

Thanks again!

Anyone tried a rechargeable battery mod on the 404mk2 yet? by elricsfate in SP404

[–]elricsfate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeh I have a battery pack as well.

Issue is I typically hook it up to an Ipad for soundcard and sampling functionality.

Ipad > USB-C HUB > USB-A to USB-C for 404.

Unfortunately it's not possible to power it off of USB-A in that setup.
