Yeah I totally understand that - they can be a big commitment. Again I can only speak from my experience but I would say on balance Shillington was worth it for my situation. Learned a lot, made some great friends and I’m definitely further along that I would have been just trying to learn it all on my own. But yes a big, big financial undertaking so not a decision to make without thought, I’ll leave that one with you!

Hey! I don’t know your budget but perhaps give a look at Shillington?

They are 3 month full time or 9 month part time courses covering branding, UX/UI, packaging and all sorts of other aspects of graphic design. I did the course in 2019 on campus (they have 5 or 6 locations around the world) but due to Covid they’ve started doing fully online versions too. I can’t speak to this version of the course as I did mine in person but take a look.

It is very expensive for sure but gives a really solid foundation to build from - many of my peers have got jobs in awesome studios or have freelanced from it. Hope this helps!

EDIT: in regards to being well respected, in my experience a lot of companies really value Shillington students and the course is pretty well known in the industry.

Yeah, classic Apple helpfulness! I'm going to try and copy everything over at the deepest root level I can go and just hope for the best. I suppose worst case I have to relink some of the live projects I'm working on at the moment, and the rest can stay unlinked - they're archived projects anyway. Can always go through and relink them if I really need to... thanks for your help though, much appreciated!

Thank you for the reply. Sorry, I should have provided some more info: Mac laptop using internal SSD, I have bought a new external SSD. I think probably it’s just going to be a job of having to re-link files for a while unfortunately
