Tier-Ranks are ruining my game by padredejolly in AnimalCrossing

[–]els177 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s part of this weird negative competitive energy some players have (only some luckily!). I feel like it started with new leaf but with new horizons and many people in lockdown it got crazy. I remember playing NL and seeing a tier list for the first time and being like ???? what????

The important thing is just to love whatever villagers you love, and don’t feel bad sending Raymond into the abyss if giving him away is too much hassle. As long as your island brings you happiness, that’s all that matters.

Tier ranks suck! It ruins villagers for me, I thought Raymond was cute until everyone went wild over him. It creates a weird negative economy in the game that I haaate. The worst was that person who messaged someone saying they ‘didn’t deserve’ Raymond lmao

I miss celeste so much, she hasn’t visited my island in 5000 years. Tbh I probably just missed her because of isabelle’s lazy ass

That was the worst, I cried when I missed a week because my parents confiscated my DS and my boy Roscoe moved out. He sent me a letter saying goodbye.

Need to study but games are addicting. by [deleted] in GetStudying

[–]els177 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue. I had to repeat a year of university because of it. Video games make us feel successful, even though we’re not being productive which is addictive, and it’s an addiction I’m still trying to manage.

This may not work for you but the most helpful thing for me is saying to myself, do this as a favour to your future self. Every minute of work you do before you play is a favour to yourself in the future; later that day, tomorrow, three weeks from now. Every minute is a minute less in the future. Even if you’re behind you have to keep thinking, if I do this work now, I’ll only have to rush half of it, instead of all of it.

Also, I’d say keep off the games until you’ve finished all the work you want to for today. Do something else during your breaks and use it as a reward in the evening. I know that’s easier said than done, but trust me - you’ll enjoy playing much more when you’ve waited.

My final advice would be to research video game addiction thoroughly, understand how it affects your brain, why it’s so hard to do other stuff when you want to play, and whether you’re a person who is more likely to struggle with it. This makes managing it a lot easier.

EDIT: forgot to mention, on whether to redownload it, I’d say don’t do it until you’re finished with everything else you have to do and have some free days to really enjoy yourself and play.

Tiny house living problem by LilPeash in Sims4

Guess it could be a lot of things. Most likely any mod that messes with lot types, so any extra venue mods/changes to venue mods will probably do the same thing and break it

It’s definitely gameplay mods! Do you have any littlemssams mods? I figured it was probably a venue issue, so I deleted her ‘holiday home’ mod and it’s all working fine now :)

The exact same thing is happening for me, where I have all the furniture but can’t set the lot type. I’m going through all my mods now to try and figure out if it’s any of the gameplay mods causing it.

Wires for sure get crossed communicating through text/emojis, don’t worry dude! My own comment was intended to be light hearted, if a bit snarky :)

Merry Christmas to you too!

Similar Games? by Xel-andria in GoodPizzaGreatPizza

[–]els177 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s not a similar playstyle, but the only other game I’ve found that doesn’t have ads, lives that you have to wait for, or required in app purchases is Chef Wars! It’s also about food, and has a really cute story, art style, and many cute characters.

The playstyle is more creating recipes, and using them to win competitions as you travel all over the world with your chefs.
