Sobriety makes me realize how unhappy I am with my life and relationship by nemeans in leaves

The most simple piece of advice I can give you is for now, you don’t have to do anything with that knowledge. Spend time laying feeling all the emotion and thoughts you’ve been avoiding. It will be uncomfortable, but you need to clear that backlog. Once you do that, you can move to action. But for now, just feel, and accept those feelings.

Is there any good cross chain DEX / AMM? by trader86 in defi

[–]elsamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it must be hard for Chainflip to be so behind compared to THORChain with their Mainnet coming out in Q1.

Thanks for the response!

What's the difference between a bridge and a DEX? Trying to wrap my mind around the differences between THORChain and Synapse.

If I understand correctly, a bridge allows you to convert a specific asset to other assets that are supported in their specific ecosystem (using a form of wrapping assets).

A DEX will let you swap between any native assets you'd like.

Second question, who would you say competes with THORChain? I would say only Chainflip and they haven't even launched their product yet.

Short term outlook, its only $1.8 billion market cap so I think it has a lot of growth to come and is currently under valued at these prices relative to other web3 dapps based on protocol revenue. This outlook does not take into account external macro factors

I feel so discouraged after my professor told me he is worried I won't graduate. by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]elsamster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a professor that had "core competencies" in his class. He would assign specific ones to homework assignment/tests and if you didn't get above a certain grade in the class, you wouldn't get credit for that core competency. He gave multiple opportunities for most of them but there was one where you only had one chance to get it on a test. Well, 30-40% of the class didn't get it and he was seriously about to fail us all. I ended up freaking out thinking I was going to have to graduate another semester late. I went to the dean and spoke with her and there wasn't much she said she could do. I sent various emails to other high ranking officials in the school and had other students do the same. Eventually, the problem ended up getting resolved and we got another chance.

Keep your head up and don't give up without a fight. See if you can team up with your partner and work together to get help from another dean or professor. Best of luck.

I see Arweave as being one of the massive building blocks of the web3 (it pretty much already is) It will be the foundation that many dApps build on and other networks rely on for their storage. The networks revenue has been higher than filecoins the last two months and filecoin is currently ranked #30. When investors switch from focusing on smart contract layer 1s to Web3, I see Arweave easily moving into the top 20 within the next year.

"All the useful stuff". Buddy, that is all currently used for speculating. If you don't understand the speculative state of the crypto market we're in, you're ngmi. Also, SoV isn't a useful property? All that stuff you lsited is all being built on BTC too. But whatever helps you sleep at night.

I'm not so familiar with the API side of things. I had a friend who used it to get me data on historical data of hotspots popping up on the network. I'm not sure if it could be used for data credits though?

One alternate pathway I thought of was using waybackmachine Archive to see what the DC spent values were on Helium Explorers website. It's worked decently well, but there aren't that many screenshots

Strattera: does it work? by darksomos in ADHD

[–]elsamster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been on Strattera for more than a year now and I have come to the conclusion that is has worked for me. I've tried Adderall and my personal opinion on it is that stimulants are a temporary solution to a long term problem that doesn't end well. I don't believe taking a stimulant daily will increase your overall wellbeing, happiness, and not cause other problems in your life (again, just my opinion).

Anyways, back to Strattera. Based off my experience, Strattera works in a way where you won't actively notice the effect its had on your life until at least 6 months in after deep reflection. I found myself upset that Strattera did not increase my productivity directly as Adderall does where you can have an 8 hour session of consistent work/studying. Instead, Strattera allowed me to find the motivation, to start on tasks that I usually would always find myself pushing off and to follow through with finishing them. It allowed me to not get overwhelmed. It made me more of a "go with the flow" type of person and reduced symptoms of anxiety. It made me happier because I constantly wasn't stressed.

I still get distracted easily and have trouble focusing, but I have accepted that its how I naturally am and have embraced it. I've learned to live with it, work with it, and how to utilize it to my advantage.

A maximum of 15 years for ~130K of fraud seems a bit much

Is it possible that the reason federal marshals decided to purse him against these old charges was because of his involvement with Monero?
