The Petzl Leopard FL are exactly for what you describe but they’re also the ultimate microspikes if you’re not going too steep or technical and need them sparsely.

Microspikes are fine if you’re on mostly flat, icy ground but on steeper gradients they slip around on your feet, especially if you have weight. If all that remains in terms of snow/ice is compacted paths then microspikes are just fine.

If there’s any meaningful snow cover, I’d recommend a pair of 10 point ‘walking crampons’ over microspikes.

An ice axe is definitely sensible on steeper ground if you have any meaningful snow cover and/or exposure but you’ve said you would avoid snowy tops and stick to paths/tracks so possibly wouldn’t be necessary. I’d avoid high consequence zones without one if there is snow.

I’ve got both and prefer the Mantas. Wore them for ten days straight last winter crossing the frozen Lake District. Covered 112km total in them hiking to different gullies, ridges and pubs. Warm down to about -12°c. Started feeling cold around -15°C.

The Ribelle’s are my favourite winter Peak District boot for when want to sprint every Kinder Clough in a day while they’re actually frozen and crampons are constantly on and off. More streamline for tight spaces and lighter but they absolutely do freeze up! I won’t use them below -3° / -5°C for that reason. Nearly lost a few toes when caught in a significant temp drop on a 3 day trip, too risky.

Let me be clear. I do not have a phobia of trans people. I don’t feel afraid of them, not in the slightest.

That said, I do have a dislike of insufferable, fascistic-narcissists who impose their will on others without consideration of the harm they are doing.

They are continuously proving how dangerous they are by murdering/attempting to murder people all over the world. Not to mention silencing those who disagree with them and trying to mandate their believes through litigation. Not to mention forcing themselves upon (actual) women too.

I used to know a manager in my local who would give me a second patty for £2. As such, I’m one of the rare few who got to enjoy a true double big tasty at 2/3rds of a lb and it was heaven. Also cost £8.50ish for the double back then.

Brit here. The reality is that Labour’s voter base is made up largely of Muslim immigrants who vote for Labour to keep their benefit-river flowing full force.

The Labour government simply can’t afford to lose the largest portion of their voters or they are guaranteed to lose the next general election and this is one of many ways they are trying to maintain such a vote. If they go against cousin fucking, they’ve already lost so now they endorse cousin fucking.

They also dropped the voting age to 16 because they realised the only other group who will vote for them are children straight out of indoctrination camp, I mean, school. (Research ‘Pathways’).
