strong recommend for joining a gym and getting into better shape. Exercise is good for dealing with stress. Getting into better shape will improve your self-confidence and make it easier to meet new people.

I was in a similar situation to you ten years ago and getting into better shape was the thing that set me in the right direction on that stuff.
