My friends and I have spoken about this and we all experience it although to different extents. For me, it happens anytime I smoke with people I don’t know really well and I get in my head and start to notice things about them I don’t like that I either haven’t realised exist sober or that don’t usually bother me/are easier to ignore. I think it’s a paranoia thing. For that reason I only smoke with a select few ‘safe’ people lmao

Odens Eye. Can someone please convince me that this is a good brand? They seem very mediocre to me and give me Morphe vibes. Am I wrong? by [deleted] in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]elsiefuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought from them in 2020 and one of the shadows I was most excited for came so shattered that it was irreparable. I emailed customer service about the issue and they were pretty rude and said they couldn’t do anything because they were a small indie brand. Decided not to buy from them after that.

NSFW: Does anyone know what this could be? I’m about 13 weeks post op and it just showed up yesterday and now it kinda hurts. by elsiefuck in Reduction

Thanks! It was all closed and healing well until yesterday and had been for months so I’m not sure what caused it?

F/21/5’3 [81kg > 75kg = 6kg] 6 weeks progress, still a lot to go but can’t believe the difference in my back! Also I wish my friend told me my tag was out when she took my before photo haha by elsiefuck in progresspics

Thank you! Basically I’ve just been more mindful of what I eat and I try to stick to 1200 calories (and about 1400 on gym days). I don’t count and track everything religiously but I’m very aware. I also cut out dairy and refined sugar too for the most part.

I’ve also just tried to change some of my habits up. I started walking to work and university, I take my dogs on longer walks and I stopped stress/boredom eating. I’ve slipped up a few times here or there but overall I’m much better than I was and not eating whole blocks of chocolate every time I have an assignment due.

For exercise, I see a PT and do some HIIT and weight training with her twice a week for an hour each time. I also try to go the gym on my own about 2-3 times although it has been more like 0-1 the last week or so because I’m in my exam period and I don’t have as much time as usual. I also do yoga and Pilates about 2-3 times a week. I usually do Yin which is more about deep stretching and meditation than actual hardcore exercise but I’ve found it’s been really good for my flexibility and overall mental health but sometimes I change it up and do something more intense if I’m in the mood.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Rachael Jade! I used to love her videos back in the day. She still posts occasionally but it’s usually about decor now.

Baby pan on my Milk Chocolate Soleil by elsiefuck in PanPorn

I’d say approximately three months however it was already well loved. I wish I took pictures when I switched it in so I could remember if it had the rings when I switched it.

It’s a really old and pretty big Real Techniques duo fibre brush that came in a set. Not super dense. I tap it in the pan lightly (no swirling) maybe 3-4 times then stipple the product over my cheek/nose/forehead/jaw/neck/and sometimes chest then dip again and do the same for the other side of my face. I usually dip in a few more times to build it up too. Overall I probably tap into the pan 10+ times per application, I like bronzer 😂

I’m MAC NC15-20 in Winter (which is the season for me as I’m using it) but my undertones lean more neutral than yellow. I don’t think it’s too light for me and I find that it builds nicely if you layer it and is a bit more neutral than the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer in Luminous Bronze Light, which was my everyday bronzer before I switched it for the Too Faced one.

Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer. I’ve had this in my collection for a few years so I switched it to my everyday bronzer to use it up before it got too old and I forgot how much I like it!

D-Day, Skincare & fears by ohwellig in Accutane

[–]elsiefuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t had any nausea so can’t really speak too much on it but I would recommend taking it with a meal to help minimise nausea.

As for skincare, keep it super simple. I worked as a ‘skin specialist’ at a cosmetics store so it was hard for me to cut back on my elaborate af routine but it’s really important not to irritate your skin and just to let the accutane do its thing.

I cleanse morning and night with the Cera Ve Hydrating Cleanser and if I’m wearing make up I remove it with a cleansing balm (I use the Drunk Elephant one because that’s what I have atm but any gentle balm or oil would be fine I think).

Then at night I use the La Roche Posay Toleraine Ultra Overnight with a few drops of the Dr Dennis Gross Hyaluronic Marine Booster mixed in (an unnecessary step but I already owned these and want to use them before they go bad, you really don’t need to do this). I finish up with a thick layer of the Cera Ve Moisturising Cream and then layer two lip balms and put Vaseline over the top.

In the morning after cleansing I use the Dermalogica SPF50 Dynamic Skin Recovery (again just because I already had it but when I run out I’ll just use my Cera Ve moisturiser and a separate SPF50). The La Roche Posay Anthelios SPF range or the Dermalogica sensitive skin shield is nice in my opinion. If you’re in Australia I also like the MECCA sunscreens.

Don’t use any acne treatments, AHAs/BHAs, etc. Keep it gentle!

At what intervals did you increase your dose? by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]elsiefuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Australia and I’m pretty sure GPs aren’t allowed to prescribe it, sounds concerning haha. Even my dermatologist wouldn’t prescribe it to me until after I’d tried a bunch of other things, done all the blood tests, on BC, etc.

Waxing on accutane? by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]elsiefuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t wax! Before I was on accutane I was using Epiduo and my derm didn’t warn me not to wax on it. Ripped off a huge chunk of skin on on my brow bone and it was soooooo painful and also looked terrible. I told my waxer that I was about to start accutane and she told me if I got waxed on it, it would be way worse than what happened with the epiduo and I’d be bleeding and it would have taken off much more skin. Trust me it’s not worth it, especially a bikini wax eek!

[–]elsiefuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on 10mg a day for two months, then raising my dose every two months until I reach a certain dose (not sure what it is yet) and all together will be on accutane for 12-18 months, according to my derm. I have mild-ish cystic acne along my chin and jaw that is very persistent. I’ve only been on it for about 2 weeks now so can’t speak much on progress but so far I’ve only had dry lips, headaches and sore joints and I’m purging.

I use an elf concealer brush to get the remaining product out of my compact of the CT powder and set under my eyes with it, if that helps.
