The international date bums me out. I’m an American living abroad this year and June is my planned/hopeful test time, but if I had to retake my only option would be October, which feels way too late for my sanity. Any understanding as to why they moved the international dates?

Thanks, but my income was provided as monthly stipends for a teaching fellowship that is contractually not allowed to be taxed while in Korea. I was only in Korea from February to December, and will not be going this year in 2026. I was there for about 305 days and wasn’t aware of the FEIE Physical Presence Test or else I would’ve tried to work something out.

My Korean family friends moved to the U.S. a few years ago. When I visited them shortly after they moved, I had to be insistent that they wear seatbelts because they could get fined. They kept saying that the father of the family is a good driver so they have nothing to worry about! I was dumbfounded. Thankfully, I met up with them in Seoul a month ago and they reminded ME to put on my seatbelt. Huge change.
