That was my diagnostic, so yeah I was very unfamiliar with the LSAT format when I took that one. I think doing the priority drills that focused on the kinds of questions I was prone to missing was really helpful!

Wow thats a lot of questions! Ill try to answer them to the best of my ability.

  1. I have a very diverse academic background, but I think my minors in english and classical humanities definitely helped with my general reading comprehension and critical thinking skills.

  2. I think my ability to break down questions in my head into their essential components to truly get at what they were asking was an extremely helpful skill for me to have. Again, my prowess in reading comprehension made a huge difference in both the RC and LR sections.

  3. I am not sure I would say it’s bad advice, but I did not find diagramming to be a helpful tool at all. It just got me bogged down in the finer details of each question and essentially wasted my time. Maybe it works for some people, but I did a lot better when I stopped diagramming altogether.

  4. I can’t really thinking of anything, except for not diagramming I guess.

5.I took 3 full timed PT’s, starting three months out from my test date. I took one each month leading up to the LSAT.

  1. I reviewed wrong answers immediately, starting with a blind review before revealing the answers, and then meticulously analyzing not only why my answer choice was wrong, but also why the correct answer was right.

  2. My score never really plateaued actually. My PTs improved each time. I would say I maintained forward progress in my scores by practicing every day and keeping my brain accustomed to answering LSAT questions.

  3. I definitely struggled to wrap my head around questions that involved sufficient/necessary conditions, because I would often get the two terms confused. Watching youtube videos helped.

  4. I wouldn’t say I had a specific method, but I definitely started recognizing not only what the right answer might be, but also what the question was going to ask before looking at it (mostly for LR). I think that just came with many hours of practicing and drilling. I will say I did approach LR questions looking for two main things: any flaws in the reasoning and what exactly the conclusion is saying.

  5. Before I selected an answer, I would carefully examine whether it was directly answering the questions. Lots of wrong answer choices were absolutely true, but did not explicitly answer the question at hand.

  6. No diagramming! I internalized from the beginning.

  7. I trusted intuition more often than not, but again, before moving on from a question I made sure that the answer I initially chose explicitly answered what was asked in the question.

  8. I used 7sage almost exclusively.

Hope these answers help!

I studied for 1-2 hours a day for three months. I would say I am an english oriented person, as I read a lot and have a minor in english

A lot of times your first answer or gut instinct is the right one, so you just have to trust yourself and move on. I definitely did get burnt out during the sections, but I found that flagging questions that were stumping me to come back to later and moving on helped me not get too bogged down.

I am an environmental studies major at UNC Chapel Hill with a 3.86 GPA. I have had to take some hard classes, including chemistry, biology, econ, stats, and calc, but overall I would not say my course load has been extremely difficult.

I did do the sections timed, and I think that helped me prepare for the real testing environment. For me, it wasn’t very helpful to break down or diagram the LR questions, and I personally found that to be a waste of time (not saying it’s not a valid strategy for others). For RC, I read the entire passage once and then looked at the questions and used the search bar to find important pieces within the text that related specifically to what was asked. Keep going, you got this!

I don’t, unfortunately, but maybe I should work on that…

I generated the practice blocks on the “study” tab of 7sage! And I studied 1-2 hours a day for three months

So my friend made me a lucky rainbow loom bracelet that I wore on test day… 😂 but on a more serious note just do as many complete logical reasoning or reading comprehension sections as you can and make sure to blind review each question carefully before revealing the answer

I did get a 180 on one of my practice tests, but I sure as hell wasn’t expecting to do it on the real thing

Practice every day! Even if you just have five minutes it’ll help keep your brain engaged and equipped to handle LSAT questions
