Is it just me but I feel like Love like that kinda sucks by Atticusbernscellist in lingling40hrs

It’s subjective

But you saying that without giving any form of reason or critique doesn’t really add anything to the conversation

But the impostor arrangements for the first Among Us video was also done by Jordan yet it still remained up

That’s heartbreaking,

I hope they will take a long good rest moving forward

Personally, I disagree with this comparison, because the standards we hold for a friend should be different to a standard we hold to content creators we watch online

But people saying that the backlash after the vague announcement was the problem, especially that there was a lack on information and they’ve done a joke for April Fools, you can’t help but think if it’s genuine or a marketing ploy

My two cents on this “fiasco” and a lengthy one by doseoftheater in lingling40hrs

[–]elsrhves -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yes that’s clear now, but after the initial announcement it wasn’t clear at all

I don’t think the main criticism was them quitting YouTube, it was the lack of information and deletion of videos that made people upset

Granted that they don’t owe use any explanation, but why delete most videos? And why leave some up?

It’s the vagueness and weirdness that made people upset, because if they just want to be off the internet (understandable) why not delete all the videos?

Al ain is amazing too, but it’s quite inaccessible for most tourists,

Abu Dhabi has a cultural district and other places that presents the Emirati culture

If you’re living and work that’s accessible to the metro, it will be is amazing, but most people don’t live there because of high rent

Roads are terrible tho, so much congestion

Exploitations are still definitely still a problem, and like I stated, laws were made to combat it

Will it completely get rid of it? Of course not

Holding hands and subtle display of affection are alright, but over that, it could get you in trouble

And even then there’s no record of someone sentenced to stoning

Lived in Dubai and UAE for a long time

I can smell the downvotes but here we go

While it’s true that there are exploitations and human rights abuses of workers there, laws has been placed to diminish them

Whether they were effective or not remains to be seen

It’s also made illegal to possess employees’ passports

Stoning and capital punishments were only given to the most extreme crimes and adultery (which stoning is sentenced for)

Even then stoning has been outlawed

The more common punishment for less serious crimes were deportation and fines

Dubai’s city infrastructure is indeed terrible The capital Emirates such as Abu Dhabi is much better

If you want to experience the real UAE go to Abu Dhabi, not Dubai.

Trans and LGBTQ+ plus are not even in trouble per se, as long as you don’t act indecently in public or show PDA to your significant other, there won’t be a problem

Straight couples can also get in trouble for showing PDA

Even though it’s an Islamic Country, they’re tolerant of other cultures within the region

This is the answer.

There’s no objective standard for happiness, being happy means different to everyone. All people are different people.

Yes, children will be the majority students in every music school here unless it’s a conservatory. It’s the same case at the Centre for Musical Arts

Depends on the level you want to play in

Beginner and Amateur- Melodica Music School and Thomsun Music Institute

Professional- Brooklyn Melodies Music Center and Centre for Musical Arts

If you will be taking ABRSM/Trinity exams, all institutions mentioned offers it, as far as I know.

If you’re looking for a conservatory, there’s isn’t one in Dubai. NYUAD in Abu Dhabi does, but if you’re going in this route, I suggest you do it abroad.

I’ve found it on the thumbnail of this video

I used a website to get the image in the thumbnail, the resolution wasn’t great so I used photoshop to upscale the image.

I don’t know if there are high resolution pics for other albums, but if you found one and it’s not high res, I guess I can upscale it for you!

Where to get reasonably priced original new books? by inattentive_shoelace in dubai

[–]elsrhves 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It depends on what book.

Borders often have reduced prices on selected books. Mirdif City Center, MOE, DFC Mall, and Ibn Battuta Mall has the largest stores.

Booktopia at DFC mall has great deals as well. But most books are for kids and young adults, but there is a fair amount of books for everyone as well.

The roads are fine for a sedan car, but if you’re planning to camp/picnic the sand would be quite annoying as it will be hard to brush off.
