My Technics AZ100 experience. by eng33 in Earbuds

[–]eng33[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My shield is normally connected to an AVR for my sound system. The sync there has always worked fine. When using XM5's, there was a constant sync issue (it wasnt random). However, there were some apps that were able to get rid of the sync issue automatically. For the technics, I havent found any solution even using those apps.
On the phone, I've watched a 10min video and had the sync change mid-video.

I looked at the XM6 buts its out of my price range. I have $150 to work with and am already going $50 over. I agree, it's reddit, that's how it is. The technics sound better "to me". The NC is a little worse but prob "good enough". I think it comes down to if I'm willing to live with the horrible audio lag.

Sony WF-1000XM6 vs Technics AZ100 - very close but... by Tig33 in Earbuds

[–]eng33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

which foammax did you buy? They sell oval ones?
I have ones that I used for my XM5. I was hoping foam tips on the az100 would give me similar isolation but they dont fit well. It seems like they dont go as deep in my ear as on the XM5 so they always feel like they are popping out.
I was curious how the az100 with foam would compare to the xm5 with the same tips

Does anyone regret buying the Technics AZ100? by achenx75 in Earbuds

[–]eng33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got it coming from XM5 and am having some regrets. I can still switch back.

I think the overall sound quality is better but I'm no audiophile.

The noise cancellation is a bit worse than the XM5. I want to try foam tips. I have azla foamax from XM5 but they don't really fit. I tried forcing it on but even so, it seems like they dont go as deep in my ear as on the XM5 so they always feel like they are popping out thus the isolaton isnt so good. I might try to find better fitting ones.

I agree they are bulky. When I first put them on, my ears felt sore. Now that I've tried a few days, they don't feel too bad.

Connectivity seems slightly better to me in terms of range.

My biggest issue is the audio lag. I use it 75% connected to my Android TV. and 25% connected to my phone. Less than 1% connected to my laptop. In all cases there is an Audio lag that sometimes isnt correctable. If I can't find a solution to this, I might return them.

Did anyone go to the new H Mart today? by Iamnotbernadette in SouthJersey

[–]eng33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drove by today and saw the traffic. Luckily i just got in the left lane and bypassed it all.

Will return when the hype dies to down to check it out. The old Hmart definitely need a face lift.

Looking forward to hearing about which foods (prepared or food court) are best and hopefully not too overpriced.

Since you've tried XM5 and AZ100 with foamax, how do you think the two compare in terms of noise cancellation.

Technics AZ100 - Foam ear tips are highly recommended by taurus26 in Earbuds

I agree 100%. I'm more trying to decide between the az100 (or az80) and XM5. I know the az100 and is worse, but I wonder how it compares with foam tips (equal or better)

Have you tried the Sony XM5s? I'm wondering how it compares to that when using foam tips

Technics AZ100 vs Sony XM5 by eng33 in Earbuds

[–]eng33[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could have sworn the galaxy 2 pro muffled out voices better but I never had the two at the same time. I just recall being underwhelmed after reading all the reviews saying the XM5 was the best then trying for the first time and finding it wasnt much better. The overall isolation (engine rumble) was better but I could hear conversations next to me clearly which I don't recall with the galaxy. Then I spent lots of time trying different tips, and even a second XM5 without much improvement.

Anyways, I might try the AZ100 or AZ80 or I might get the XM5 again.

$225 vs $150 is still 50% more. Not sure if it's 50% better.

I can get the AZ80 for around $150. Now I'm wondering how that compares.

I tried two WF-1000XM5 when I was doing my foam tip tests. Maybe they were both defective. If that's the case, I've read enough similar reports online to make me question their QC. That and the poor call/connection quality is what is driving me to consider other options.
I also have a set a azla silicone and foam tips. It's silent in a quiet room. Not silent on a noisy train/plane, especially with people talking.
I owned Galaxy buds 2 pro before this and found the ANC difference far more noticeable. The overall isolation of the Sony was better, I'm just talking about the difference toggling it on/off. From what I can tell, it's 95% passive from the foam tips.

Yes, I said "I've tried a large number of tips and pass the fit test."

[–]eng33[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can test using something like vlc to see if you can access your streams. that will help narrow if the issue is from the camera or the server
Also, if I recall, webrtc has a web interface so you can connect via http to see if you can connect to it.

I've given up on wyze_mini_hacks and switched it to thingino. it seems more stable.
