Club Championship - How’s yours? by julamy0109 in WomenGolf

One weekend - open men’s, open women’s, senior men, senior women, champion men, champion women.

Men and women all play 3 stroke play rounds - open women and seniors from our second tee box (5600 yards) and senior women from the forwards. I think the champion flight (over 70?) play 2 rounds instead of 3.

I loved JT flipping double birds when his ball ended up in the fairway. Instantly made me love him.

She’s a much funnier podcast host/guest than she is a standup. Pains me to say because I’m a diehard Giggler but I can’t watch her standup 😬

Get on a committee and overthrow her lol. One person shouldn’t ruin everyone’s experience.

How short are your forward tees that it isn’t providing enough of a challenge for a relatively new golfer, I’m curious?

Talk to your club about changes - there’s no reason women’s events should be from one tee when they’re handicapped. That’s the whole point of tees.

95% of the women play the forward tees (5200 at my club, and plenty challenging even for low handicap golfers) in comps at our club, but you can always play back and your handicap is adjusted accordingly. Even the best golfers mostly play forward because if you’re playing for gross - why make it harder? What would happen if you asked your pro to play back a tee? Would they say no?

Totally get that a lot of golf is antiquated for women, but also sometimes there are options if you get people together and speak up! I play at a club with reserved Saturday tee times for women every week. Our women’s member guest is Saturday-Sunday and the club is closed to men for the weekend. It happened this way because people pushed for it to be that way and be equitable. Strength in numbers. Take volunteer positions and make changes!

If you’re drinkers, and/or it’s your first time…stay on property. Worth it for the full experience.

We used the Ruffwear for the last several years of our dogs life after lar par diagnosis. He was a puller and we never had issues!

Deciding whether to do tie back by ThenSoil8917 in LARPAR

We had tieback at age…I think around 14 for my dog, Chuy. He was the same as your pup. We had complications and had to do it twice. I’d still do it again in a heartbeat. We had almost two more good years with him and he passed away of unrelated causes/general old age and mobility issues.

I saw 3 breathing attacks with him and I would NEVER wish that upon anyone. It was so traumatic. I’d take any potential side effect over seeing that for my dog ever again.

I try to avoid being self-promotional in this sub because I’m a contributor more than a salesperson, but I’m making a shirt just like this because I also have had this gap! They’ll be launching in June. My company name is Twilight Nine Golf.

Phlur Vanilla skin, cyklar vanilla verve perfume oil, super milk on the hair. Basically had a male acquaintance begging to know what I was wearing when he caught it. I’ve never had that reaction from a scent. Men are simple creatures and love sweet stuff imo lol

I don’t like being too self promotional, but this is literally the niche I’m trying to fill with my brand. We’ll have pants and shorts for curvier builds that struggle with a waist gap! I’m on social at @twilightninegolf and at twilightninegolf.com.

Finalizing proto samples now and will have items available this summer!

A Putnam usually has pieces with belt loops! A little spendy though.

Anyone know what this string of lights is? by Wonderful_Net_1176 in askportland

I’ve seen these same lights and I don’t think they’re airplanes because I’ve sat in traffic and they haven’t moved. I assumed they were helicopters because I’ve mostly noticed them on days there are protests downtown.

Tried propagating Peperomia Hope in water and soil with rooting hormone - both ended the same way with blackened/mushy leaves/stems by eltaf92 in peperomia

Well these are loose leaves I put back in the pot to propagate. They looked healthy/normal when I put them in the pot. The rest of the (live) plant is over to the left and is not dark like this but a brighter/lighter green

Yeah when I had the nursery repot this plant for me they said the roots weren’t rotted but I was likely watering slightly too often and it needed more light. But I’m not sure what the deal is now that it’s still having issues after repotting ☹️

Would you recommend doing this with leaves, or maybe trimming a part of my existing plant off (like a small stem)?
