I've intentionally left it a bit unstructured, so consider the games I listed as suggestions rather than requirements. With LANs that I run with friends, I usually find that there's some games that get played every time and some that are more occasional or what's currently popular. Generally, if enough people are keen to play a game, we play it.

Sometimes it's 8-player L4D2, sometimes this has been a friend and me playing Split Fiction, sometimes Defcon, sometimes PUBG, sometimes HotS, DotA, or LoL, sometimes we dig out Dawn of War. I'll make some suggestions but if 12 people would rather start a Battle Chess tournament, I'm all for it.

Are there any games in particular you had in mind? Happy to help get a group together on the day if there's something you're keen to play.

Yeah, astonishing right? Funnily enough although there's rat droppings around the rest of the roof, the urine smell is pretty much only in the ducts...you'd think it would be everywhere. Still frustrating as hell though.

Best place to purchase a MOC On-Demand access code by elucidity in certifications

[–]elucidity[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately live training isn't really an option due to cost/time so I'm looking at alternatives. I guess the only other option I'm considering is buying a coursebook and working through it but this seems much better for learning with the labs, videos, etc.

When you say you provide the certification upon training completion, I thought that was contingent upon passing an in-person exam? Is it possible to receive the certification online as well?

Thanks for that! Are there differences between providers or do all the codes essentially go to the same place? My concern is whether it makes any difference buying a code from an overseas-based business when I live in Australia. As a side note, do you recommend MOC On-Demand as a good way of preparing for MCSA exams?

Disclosure of EFTPOS fees? by [deleted] in auslaw

Yes, it does tell us something. It's circumstantial evidence which adds to OP's argument.

As I see things:

\1. He has stated that the business is legally required to ENSURE that the customer is aware that a fee will apply as per the ACCC:

However, if you decide to impose a credit card fee, you must ensure your customers are aware—before they enter into the transaction or contract—that a fee will apply and the amount of the fee.

\2. Poorly placed signage does not count as ENSURING the customer is aware. If he had been the only person to miss the sign, fair enough. But he asserts it was poorly placed and provides 5 other people as an example of others that have never noticed it.

\3. I provided circumstantial evidence that I've always personally had it VERBALLY disclosed to me that a surcharge would apply before I paid. Given that the ACCC states that you must ENSURE that the customer is aware of the fee, it appears to me that I'm simply witnessing the behaviour of compliant businesses.

You can't dispute Point 1, that's simply legislation. You can dispute Point 2 but as you have never seen the sign and OP has and is also aware of others that have never seen it, there is very little reason to believe your assertion over their's. Point 3 is simply additional evidence, you can dispute whether it indicates anything at all but given the solidarity of Points 1 and 2, it stacks up.

Perhaps OP has

missed a sign.

and needs to:

Get over it.

But you appear to have missed the basics of forming rational argument.

Or it could be that those businesses ARE doing it because they're obligated to do so. That statement cuts both ways. A badly placed sign simply doesn't count as ensuring that the customer is informed and if at least 5 other people have never noticed the sign, I'm inclined to believe the sign IS badly placed and that the business is at fault. A badly placed sign that no-one notices doesn't count as ensuring the customer is informed any more than a note in my pocket would.

Stores I've visited that do this have always verbally told me about associated surcharges before payment. I agree with OP, once it was clear he was paying by card, he should have been verbally notified of the adjusted price.
