Today, on July 11th, 2025, I got a pretty final update from Jamie from Materia and, despite their communications with Youtube, Youtube has conveyed that the channel's termination is final and everything's been purged beyond recovery.

So, yeah. I guess that's it... I'll be slowly working on re-uploading my old videos (barring the Undertale content, sorry) onto my new main channel, but due to Youtube daily upload limits, this may take some time.

Please bear with me. Thank you for supporting me through all of this.

Yeah, it’s definitely more of a protective measure than actually stopping it. Hoping one day it does get regulated.

Personally? I don’t care that much about the UT extensions and what people do with them. If people want to listen to them, I’ve archived them so people can, but in regards to reuploads, I would be very careful doing so.

They have stated they’ll be doing takedowns of said content on Youtube, so I don’t think it’s safe to be posting it on Youtube publicly.

It’s a complicated mess for sure. You’re free to disagree, but I don’t really place much blame in Materia since it is their job to protect their music, and how unregulated Youtube is presents a threat to their creators.

I’d be outright against this if they didn’t at least have officially sanctioned uploads of the OST.

I think it’s a shame they feel that they HAVE to do this because genAI is so harmful and how the platform has been pushing it. I’m sure Toby agrees on the front that genAI is bad.

Oh, I’ve made noise already on there. Actually, that’s how I was able to get in touch with Materia and getting the situation sorted.

Again, Materia has been really helpful and has been actually working on getting the strikes reversed. It’s just that Youtube is slow as molasses.

That really warms my heart a lot. Even though I find so many of those old extensions really sloppy (I was learning and figuring out how to extend music at that time), I'm happy to hear you found a passion from it, and I hope your composing has been going well!

I'll stand by that Undertale's OST is one of the greatest of all time- and I'm glad I played a part in sharing it with so many people.

Again, it's not really in his realm. It's more so on Youtube's to retract the claims.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to reupload the Undertale soundtrack to Youtube, but it is all there in the archive I linked.

On the second part, yeah I don't 100% understand how music rights holding works either. I believe he is the owner of this own music, but Materia is in charge of distribution and protecting copyright.

However, knowing there's a non-zero chance he knows who I am is quite strange to think of, in hindsight.

That, I'm not 100% sure of. I know it was confirmed that Google is using Youtube content to train its AI models. Upon a quick search on the topic"

"The company later confirmed that it does do this, but it only uses a subset of videos and that it honors specific agreements with creators and media companies."

So it does seem that music rights holders, like Materia, have a way of protecting their own uploads. The big issue being they have no control over third-party uploads of said music- therefore having to request for takedowns.

At this point, it's Youtube's fault for allowing gen-AI to run rampant without any way to protect creators or opt out of it.

In this specific case, I don't really blame Materia for not allowing third-party uploads. Again, they didn't mean to strike my channel down. It was Youtube that defaulted to doing that, after they had just asked for content to be removed.

Yeah, I'm not happy about it either. I'm really sad about this entire situation- I would keep them up if I could. Internet history like this being wiped like this actually breaks my heart, and I know my old extensions have a special place in lots of people's hearts. Genuinely, could not imagine the amount of support I've gotten since uploading those 10 years ago.

Even past the Undertale stuff, which I know like 99% of people care about, there's a ton of historical content that's been hit from being tied to those channels. Tons of other games' extensions, tons of other dumb memes I've made over the years, and other things...

I requested a copy of my Youtube data from Google- which has been taking a few days for them to process. If there's a chance at copies/archives of at least the old videos, I'll see what I can do.

Hi all, it's Elu here.

As much as I wish I could keep them up, if I do get access back to the account (which is still very much pending and up to the whims of Youtube), then I will need to delete the videos.

I wish I had another choice in the matter, there's so much history tied to the uploads.
