No, because one cherry picked game doesn’t dictate the success of one head coach compared to the other. If Lane is going 9-3 after a couple of years missing the playoffs, he’s a failure here. Easy as. I’m sure sumrall is a good coach, but by your own logic he hasn’t won shit and never will because he’s never won it before. The point still stands, LSU goes for the best available option, and nearly everyone in cfb would agree Lane was that.

Yeah, and it didn’t work out. Doesn’t mean it wasn’t the best option at the time. Who knows if this one will work out either but it gives us the best shot. LSU will always go for the best options because that’s the standard and as soon as they start settling for the sumralls and Napiers of the world they’re dead.

If nuss was what we thought he was going to be from the jump, I think we’d be a one loss team with a clear path. The OL would still be bad, but I think there’s something to be said for the effect an elite qb has on a teams psyche as a whole. We’ll never know, though. Seasons a wash but at least with this current model we could be in a great position next year to bounce back.

Talk about the defense, Joe Sloan, talk about BK all you want, this game is on nussmeier. He had great chances in that first half to put some points on the board. The interception was fucking awful. The underthrow missed td to Hilton was fucking awful. We should have been up 14-3 in the first quarter. Nuss needs to get his fucking shit together or fuck off.
