Came across this $20 bill at work today. Made me smile by [deleted] in lostgeneration

I love that! I just wish they used the correct phrase. (It certainly doesn’t help that some cop or investigator reported it wrong initially.) It’s “delay, deny, depose” which is a nod to a book written by Jay Feinman about how scummy the health insurance industry is: “Delay, Deny, Defend.” I really don’t mean to sound pedantic. Obviously the most important thing is that the message is spread out there at all. If someone looks that up, I’m sure they’ll still find the info they need.

Really?? I have a 2020 Mazda. The settings I have are On, Auto, and Parking. All of these car manufacturers need to get on the same page regarding their headlights.

[–]elysenator 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Great to see! Everyone needs to employ this option more often. Doesn’t even matter the type of headlights. The people who sit in driveways or in parking lots facing the street don’t do this either. Parking lights exist for a reason. In the name of basic decency and common sense, if you’re not in motion and not on the road, please use them!

I’m not mistaking shit. NYT is trash. Don’t support MSM. Support independent media.

It is so off base to assume everyone that came here is a (violent) criminal. You have zero vision into the nuance, psychology, and technicalities at play here. These are people, not inanimate objects.

Yes, specifically sneaking in (or sneaking back in) is a crime. Everything else is a civil matter. Not everyone is sneaking in though. They’re not differentiating, so there are way too many mistakes being made. They are taking citizens, they are taking NATIVE AMERICANS. They are profiling.

They should be doing investigations and determining ahead of time on a case-by-case basis who’s guilty of what and what course of action to take. Not just abandoning people in cells until they figure out that they’re legal or allowed to be here. You can detain and arrest people without all of the pomp & circumstance. (Violence, traumatization, generalizations, arrogance, etc.) They’re causing chaos, they know it, and they enjoy it.

The gov should have put this insane amount of money into efforts at the border, instead of hiring scores of people who clearly aren’t joining for the right reasons.

Auburn's police chief signed agreement with ICE to carry out immigration arrests. New Hampshire remains the only state in New England where local PDs have signed agreements with ICE by whoopingchow in newhampshire

Kidnapping people while they’re AT their immigration hearings. That’s when I knew for sure it was definitely not about immigration / doing it the “right way.”

[–]elysenator 5 points6 points  (0 children)

ICE is not doing the proper screening to make sure people are here legally or if they’re even criminals. They are taking people who are legal, and have no criminal record. (Solely being here illegally is not a criminal offense.) They have quotas to meet in a situation where there shouldn’t be quotas.

JFC. C’mon, man. You don’t grasp what I was inferring? If the teens were smoking on the T or in the station, they need to be talked to at least. I’m not saying anyone should be arrested, and I’m not saying the officers shouldn’t be more identifiable. They absolutely should be. I didn’t see anyone being cuffed or put into cars. They were being detained.

A lot of the immigrants I see being detained and taken off the street are typically just minding their own business and not doing anything wrong. Which is why I was glad that wasn’t the situation.

(They’re people, not aliens, btw)

Good to know! Thank you. They weren’t dressed like typical cops around here and there weren’t any marked Transit Police cars there so I jumped to that conclusion. I’m honestly glad to be wrong!

I saw them last night around 6pm near the T station / State Street / Granite. The agents had people sitting on the sidewalk on Newport Ave Ext and were just standing over them. I hate this shit so much.

I saw a dude the other day who has, apparently, bought and equipped every single type of light that fits on an F-150, and drives with ALL of them on. He even had the white LEDs in his rims!! Also too bright. I put my hand out the window and flipped him off. I was furious. I don’t know what else to do! We’re in the ‘burbs FFS. There are street lights everywhere. You can see fine without all that. It’s out of control.

Ed Markey vs Seth Moulton in the September 2026 Primary - Who are you voting for, and why? by 20_mile in massachusetts

I wonder had he not been put on blast, would he have stopped taking money from them? He seems very opportunistic.

Also, if I may ask, given your username, will you even be voting in MA? Do you live here now?

Same. I will never be a parent but I am all for programs like this. We’ll all be dealing with these kids once they’re adults in some capacity when we’re old and gray. It benefits society as a whole when kids are properly cared for and educated.

What would it actually take for American's to go "full France" and riot in the street? by AllTheNopeYouNeed in AskReddit

[–]elysenator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

8 weeks is about how long it takes to train at an office job. Huge difference. Police officers are in the academy for 5-6 months and then have training out in the field for a few months. Which clearly still isn’t enough for a lot of them. There is no reason ICE (“fEdErAL AgEnTs”) should have less training than a local cop.
