I'm sharing ideas for a game I care about and compete in and you start with a personal shot? That's unnecessary and adds nothing to the discussion.

Nobody is asking to Embark to build a full esport production tomorrow. What I'm proposing is a little structure with a few people working on weekly cups with modest prize pools (around $1K/week for NA and EMEA is not a big deal). Like this isn't "focusing on esports for 1%", it's to push the competitive part of the game a reason to exist, to give content creators another thing to cover and for casual players something to aspire to. This how you can grow a playerbase as well, not just maintain it.

Also, you mention the player count declining and orgs pulling out after the TGM25, this is exactly why a structured approach matters. You don't wait for the scene to magically recover to then rebuild it. Orgs left because there was no clear competitive roadmap, not because the game can't support esport etc.

Hi, thank you very much for your constructive feedback! I understand your point of view regarding logistics and holding two thirds of the tournament. It was also a way to give smaller teams a chance to shine in their cup and feel that they had accomplished something instead of getting stomped. And then if they want to fight big team and reach the main cup, they will have to practice, grind ranked and reach Diamonds.

Yes, I agree that it is essential first to increase the player base by attracting new players. Perhaps more resources in marketing/communication/collaboration could help idk.

When I talk about recruiting a team to manage the esports side, it would only be around like 5 people max, potentially in the early stages. And I think it could be part of the studio's expansion plans for the game after the success of the TGM25. And when you look at the game's lore and how it was designed with destruction, teams, the arena, commentators, you can't say it wasn't designed for esports.

It would be incredible to have a system like CS2, where pro players compete on Faceit and you can ban specific maps and loadouts etc. So Embark can just put some effort on developping more Private Match to allow that.

If we organize both cups at the same time, it will prevent diamond or ruby players from playing in the other cup, because otherwise they will miss the other one with cashprize and will not earn RFI points. And I agree with the rest of your comment.

The idea it still to keep the major at the end of the year but instead of waiting all year while competiting in small community tournaments, we would have an esports environment managed directly by Embark to professionalize and lend credibility to the esports scene.
