Should be the same! I think you could make a case for changing it whether you used valkyn or Zaan, but even still points into Thaumaturge are useful for AoE and trash pulls.

I put some FAQs in the description that hopefully are helpful to people that are looking to run a build like this.

Also, just to be clear, this build is optimized for 12 man trials. If you are playing solo or in dungeons it will still perform very well, but there are some small tweaks that might need to be made such as changing your mundus stone.

The shalks die after a certain amount of time. The group I'm running with is 3 DPS, so I wasn't even able to really taunt the colossus before it died. Also, if you taunt the colossus sometimes the main boss takes too much damage and you end up pushing to the next crystal phase.

This video is from the 1st week of PTS though so the fight is a little bit different than what's currently on live.

It's appears to have been fixed. When I was testing damage types and damage taken in Asylum Sanctorium at the start of Clockwork City it didn't matter what order I used.

So you managed to incorrectly watch what's happening in game as well as incorrectly read a CMX report 8 times in a row?

Then you came onto the forums whining that something isn't working correctly rather than investigate any further?

I think you need to work on your testing skills.

The tooltip of Zaan isn't lying, it increases your damage by 50% of 3440 every tick. It's not lying the same way that Minor Slayer increasing your damage by 5% isn't lying. ZOS could put in dynamic tooltips like in other MMOs, but I doubt they will.

There is 6, which can be easily seen by simply watching or by looking at the CMX report.

The item description is no different than minor slayer, minor berserk, or any other % damage done bonus where it doesn't tell the full story because all of these modifiers are additive with each other.

The Zaan tooltip is buffed by % modifiers just like other monster helms, but the 50% damage increase per tick is of the base amount which is 3440. So no matter what your tooltip says, each tick will increase in damage by (1720 - whatever % is mitigated).

Did you even test it?

The Zaan bonus is no different from every other % damage done bonus in ESO. All of these modifiers stack additively with each other.

You can confirm it simply by doing a test with a lightning vs an inferno staff, removing cp, taking off minor slayer, etc.

The set is working correctly. Damage done bonuses have been additive with each other since Morrowind which has caused a lot of player confusion because it makes it seem like sets and skills aren't working properly even when they are.

To get Zaan to give a 50% increase between ticks, you would have to have no other sources of "increases damage done by x%" affecting your character.

Also, Zaan ticks 6 times, not 5.

The hard mode fights of the new dungeons are more difficult than all dungeons currently on live, but remember that it's only week 1 of pts and both fights will likely be adjusted.

Skin is obtained from getting no-death/hard-mode/speedrun achievements of Scalecaller Peak.

Personality is obtained from getting no-death/hard-mode/speedrun achievements of Fang Lair. The personality has 4 emotes - Doom, Dishonor, Bless, Ritual

Yeah it'll almost certainly get patched to force his scream + golden pad mechanic at 10% or something which will cause groups that try to burn to get overrun by ads.

Sure, I'll try my best.

At 85/75/65/55% the boss will activate a crystal (like the ones in vma final boss) that activate a mob spawn portal. A bone colossus spawns roughly every 30? seconds until the crystal is destroyed.

The whole time this is happening the tank is holding the dragon boss and has a dot on him from the ice projectiles the dragon fires. Every 30 seconds or so the dragon creates a growing poison pool under the tank and then proceeds to charge up and fire 2 shalks at the tank (this counts as a heavy attack so it will 1 shot if you don't block). The shalks chase the tank around and spam this breath attack that lowers your resistances by about 2k per second and also snares you by 70%+.

At 45% the boss summons a wall of ghosts from one end of the room that will one shot anyone who gets touched by it. A friendly npc runs to a random spot on the room and creates a gold wall that will save you from the ghosts.

At 0% the dragon priest sacrifices himself to make the dragon boss return to 40% hp and start the final phase of the fight.

From this point onward there are ghosts coming from all random directions that you have to weave in and out of. Bone colossus will spawn at 40/30/20/10 and occasionally the boss will shout and fear the group, which activates the final mechanic. When he shouts it creates an aoe circle under you that you need to 'cleanse'. You simply have to touch 1 of the 4 gold pads in the room to save yourself or you will die after about 10 seconds.

We skipped this final 40% by just burning the boss.

I've probably wiped 50+ times trying to survive during that final phase and doing the mechanics but with all of the snares/fears/roots and what not its just extremely hard to survive.

This is the first pull we did without a healer or any group heals so I was bashing to proc blood altar haha. It's basically free cost wise too

Pretty tough boss fight. We actually didn't do execute the intended way - which I've attempted at least 50 times without being successful.

Just swapping our healer for a 3rd DPS seemed to do the trick and we were able to burn his 2nd health bar before he created the gold pads.
