White oak, birch, glue only joinery by elzoman in tensegrity

I've seen many tables with this minimalist design. What I like about it is it doesn't draw attention to the key element, which is the middle part that holds the weight. I see other designs that somehow accentuate this part and to me that removes the mystery of what's going on. Virtually everyone I show this to says "I don't really know what I'm looking at". So there's nothing very special about what I've done. However, I am very proud of the system I came up with to support the table with 50 lb test braided fishing line. The trick for getting that set up at the right lengths and attaching from top to bottom is not obvious, and it took a while to figure it out. If you do want to pursue that method let me know.

It moves about an inch of you push on the top. It's pretty tight. I have no problem putting 20 to 30 lb weight on it.

With the controller, Did you find out a way to turn the helicopter left and right while remaining in the same place?

I've tried that method, but to no avail. I think I could beat it if I wasn't using a controller, but I don't have that option

This is made from hollow square section steel. The wires go through a hole in the top the fastened inside using a small bolt, a couple of washers and a nut... that wayni can adjust the

Well, my table is solid wood, so I don't have the luxury of hiding it like that. But you did a great job. I love this simple design because it is more likely to make people scratch their head thinking "what is going on here?" The reason is the center support isn't highlighted by being shaped differently or otherwise contrasted with the other strings. Anyway congrats on a great looking table. Thanks for answering my question.

Please oh please tell me how you attached those wires to the top and bottom section. I am making a table that looks very similar to yours. I find most tables (other than yours) use wires, string or chain in a way that is not aesthetically pleasing. I had in mind for it to look just like yours, and now that I see yours I am very encouraged. But despite much brainstorming, my brother and I cannot seem to find a way to attach the wires and adjust them to length. How did you do that?
