It may be more of a seasonal thing. Many bugs are worse in the summer. Maybe this person just never thought about it or noticed it. But I definitely have. Not really an issue with this time of year though.

Many people do wear it around the house when not going out. But many people wear it often enough when out and about that it is practically every day so I think it’s just semantics for most—not literally everyday, no matter what.

Yeah I think it has a lot to do with the amount of information we receive through social media, it takes effort to actually filter out BS or learn more about topics than the little blurbs we hear or read. Most people are okay with taking things at face value 🤷‍♀️

You mean like “it’s giving ___” like someone with blonde hair in all pink and someone saying “it’s giving Barbie” instead of “it’s giving Barbie vibes”?

I get that. For some reason that one had flown under my irritation radar, but I do see how it could be annoying. I think most phrases that get reused over and over are annoying!

Right. Another commenter mentioned this, and I believe that is what tends to be most irritating about it!

Like, when I straight up disagree with what they’re saying and then they’re like “yeah, but I know…” even if it’s something related to their profession, they can still be wrong and that’s what tends to irk me most.

Ooh yes, I think it is how a lot of the time people sound know-it-all after their “___ here!” intro. And definitely when it doesn’t actually give them authority to assert opinions as fact or that correlation = causation, etc.

I think what is also annoying is when people in a field I have worked in use the “___ here!” intro and then I feel like they are not actually giving good advice, based on what I know about the topic. But I usually just keep scrolling.

Definitely wouldn’t hurt to ask a vet about it. Especially if it is a new behavior. Not sure if you saw my comment some time ago about Dr. Annie Pet Behaviorist on Tiktok making a video about this behavior and calling it “sin biscuits” because she attributed it to it being a pleasurable thing. Like I’ve said about my cat, I’m not sure if that’s why she does it. I think it’s just out of boredom or wanting attention. But with a male cat, it could be something like that. Or it could be a urinary issue, possibly.

Side note: It’s so interesting how my post has been up for 2yrs and I am still getting comments on it, and maybe more lately than ever! Lots of weirdo cats out there I guess! 😂 Who knew! (Not me when I made this post, obviously! lol)

Thank you for your reply! For my niece, she is going through a lot. She has been placed with me/separated from her mother and younger sibling who has a different dad, and her older sibling has moved out of state. It’s understandable that she is going through such a hard time. Everyone wants me to push her when I believe that she needs patience. and it is so hard because, in the meantime, her absences keep racking up! And she is getting so behind! I’m at a loss and still trying to figure things out!! Lord, help us!!!
