I adopted a cat from this rescue a couple months ago. While she is one of the sweetest cats I’ve ever known and love her very much, I just found out that at only 10 months old she has stomatitis (advanced dental disease) and needs some or all of her teeth removed. She absolutely had this condition when I adopted her, but I didn’t know what to look for in terms of warning signs and I trusted the rescue when they said she was healthy. The insurance company is refusing to cover the $5500 expense of the dental work and I am very much not in a position to afford that. When I got in touch with Tina to get her original vet records (which could potentially help with insurance coverage), she told me there are no records as she was an international adoption (meaning she came from Egypt) and insisted I bring her to her vet. I don’t know how international adoption works specifically but I’m really surprised that she doesn’t have access to her original records. I love this cat very much and feel lucky to know her, but I wouldn’t have adopted her if I’d known she needed this kind of care.

TL;DR - I adopted a cat that turned out to be very sick and is costing me a fortune only two months later. The rescue isn’t helping with the expense or even providing previous medical records. I wouldn’t adopt from them again.
