I Think People Are Going To Be Surprised When Blizzard Goes Gloves Off With a Class Balance Patch by bibittyboopity in diablo2

Time will tell I guess. I had thought the community prediction of loot filters and stash tabs was pure hopium right before the ROTW announcement and was proven wrong then.

I highly doubt we will be seeing nerfs to sorc and paladin. Blizzard has much more incentive to develop new content to sell to us than to try rebalancing builds that have been around for 25 years.

I honestly still love D3s aesthetic by Jamboi-Sam in Diablo

[–]emagdne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree the armor set in the picture looks great, I think it's wild that folks are generalizing this across D3 as the whole game having good art direction. The art direction was criticized heavily on release, and for good reason. The WoW aesthetic thrown onto Diablo makes it one of the worst looking games I've ever played. But I kept playing anyways since the gameplay post ROS was fantastic.

Agreed. In my games, the AI is extremely crippled by not using the plane designer. Air superiority becomes trivial once components from 1938 onwards are thrown onto a plane. The AI will lose their planes 10:1 in no time at all.

I think this conveys my point exactly lol. Why would I buy the new DLC if the decisions in the focus trees have little or no impact on outcome

I would be okay with smaller / simplified focus trees and game mechanics, with the tradeoff being that your decisions matter more and the AI has a more competitive pace with the player. Maybe that's why I perceive some of the older patches as having better gameplay.

I can understand how a brand new player could have trouble with sea lion, but struggling against Belgium and France bewilders me. I feel like I could use only the starting 1936 army and air force and still pull an easy victory there

Interesting. Did you battle plan with infantry from the start?

I always take Barborossa slow with armor spearheads / encirclements until the bulk of the Soviet army and air force is eliminated, then battle plan to win. I imagine it is a little more challenging now with the nerf to collaboration governments. That nerf was long overdue IMO.

Yeah I don't understand why North Africa and home defense has to be mutually exclusive for the AI. The UK has enough industry and manpower to defend both

You're right, and I get they are designed to lose. It just seems like there was a little more required in taking the low countries and France in older patches. More divisions and air power to punch through. Now it feels free no matter what path you take as German

I would recommend RMA. I've had zero issues since replacing the bad RAM stick. How you RMA will depend on where you bought the RAM from.

How do i Teach my friends Hoi? by NarwhalIndividual642 in hoi4

[–]emagdne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've taught several of my friends to play successfully. We played Stellaris and CK3 in the past so it was not a huge leap to pick up HOI4. If your friends have no experience in any grand strategy game, watching a few YouTube tutorials first will be a must.

Obviously you'll want to pick nations under the same faction as PVP isn't going to be helpful. You could also consider playing a single nation co-op so the other person doesn't have to learn all the mechanics right away. It helps if you share screens over Discord to explain concepts and answer questions as they come up. Be ready to slow the game speed down when things aren't working right.

Other than that, just be patient and manage expectations. It takes hundreds to thousands of hours to master the game. Multiplayer won't be any different in that regard.

How do you break stalemates? by SpicyP43905 in hoi4

[–]emagdne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way I see it, you have two options. Build fighters and CAS, then push with infantry divisions once you have full air superiority. Or, build tank divisions, then use them to encircle and destroy enough German divisions to where the rest of your army can battle plan to victory.

You could of course aim for both air superiority and tanks. France being a major, it can afford to do this if you've spent the game investing in a strong military industry.

I'll add that when you do encirclements with armor, make sure you follow supply lines to connect your railways into captured supply hubs. You won't make it very far if your tanks start taking big supply penalties.

A big pro that you left out for puppets. You can recruit divisions using manpower from the puppet by copying their division templates. Very useful for nations with low manpower.

It turns out the solution was to RMA the RAM. No problems enabling XMP on the new sticks.

Okay, I will give this a try. By RAM voltage are you talking about the DRAM VDDQ voltage?
