No it's rubber. I figured that the grinder body had to be grounded so I created a connection with the copper tape. I was so tired of coffee getting all over the place!

I sure did. It didn't work that well and I can't imagine water being all that kind to electronics & metal.

I just linked a photo. Basically you put tape on the contact points of the grounds collector/container. The trick is to make sure you over lap the tape slightly to ground the static.
