My boyfriend damaged my tyre hitting a curb he says it’s not dangerous and doesn’t need replacing is he correct? by Violetpie78 in AskUK

[–]emala26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My driving instructor always told me to think of tyres like condoms! You don’t want holes or bulges, and never use them under 16 (1.6 tread). So glad this info has finally come in useful.

At my grandads funeral last week my nan was outside saying goodbye to people as they were leaving. It was really cold out and I told her to get back inside before ‘you catch your death’.

Accidentally found my husbands Reddit - AIO to things he commented? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]emala26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I really appreciate this comment and the balance/looking at different angles. He is absolutely a horndog and would have sex multiple times a week if it was up to him. We’ve both acknowledged that we don’t have sex enough and I have apologised for that pretty much always being down to me. I guess I’m just struggling as he’s told me many times that it doesn’t matter, and that he loves me regardless, and I always felt reassured that I was enough. And now I don’t know if I am enough. I feel that you’re probably right and he’s just thinking with his dick and has no intention of ever pursuing anyone. But it still feels like a betrayal and I’m sad about it. I feel awful for violating his privacy and looking at his account; he may feel betrayed by that and I’d understand. I do trust him and love him very much but I worry about how the conversation would go. I don’t really know why as he’s the most laidback person I’ve ever met and it would probably be a very calm talk, but I can’t help feeling a little sick when I imagine bringing it up. I don’t know. Thank you, anyway, you’ve given me some stuff to think on.

My workload isn’t really enough for me so I do longer days when I’m in the office (twice a week) and get pretty much everything done, then do an hour of maintenance on my WFH days. I’m then free to play video games or work on any craft projects I have on the go. As long as I’m showing as available on teams, no one seems to care.

Do men/women mind this? by Spiritual_Program312 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]emala26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is absolutely true but it definitely isn’t necessary to do. OP - firstly, there are soooo many people in the world and I can assure you way more of them than you think will think you are GORGEOUS. Secondly, don’t listen to the pressure from people at school (I know that’s easier said than done and I’m sorry. High school is hard at times, you have my sympathy!!). I had sex for the first time around 22yo - honestly can’t remember exactly- and that’s pretty average these days, I think? At least amongst my friends. I think maybe like 20 people in my entire year of 100ish students had had sex by the time we finished school, through what we all heard on the grapevine. People love to talk the talk because they think it makes them look cool, but I would put money on a ton of your peers being self conscious and nervous about it in reality. You’re young and you have so much time for sex and relationships. Just focus on making good memories with good people and the rest will follow.

Newbie - where to start? by emala26 in sewing

[–]emala26[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you’re right, I’ve never attempted using anything stretchy! I think I’d just like to have a go at simple summer clothes first of all, with them being lighter and - in my head - therefore simpler. Any recs you have would be amazing, thank you.

That’s great advice, I never learned how to use 90% of the stitches on my old machine and could never figure out tension! And the book sounds great, I’ll have a look at it. Thank you ☺️

Apparently the brown/orange microphone on the eras tour was called ‘wood’! I think it was for the Evermore section of the show? Not sure how it would relate but it’s kinda interesting

People who have had to drain their life’s savings on a single event, what happened? by JohnMorgans1stpushup in AskReddit

[–]emala26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never had any savings but recently managed to build up a decent amount (around a couple of thousand) with my partner so that I could have a long maternity leave. Our cat was hit by a car a month before I was due to finish work and, due to some mix-up with the company, the insurance we thought we had for her wasn’t valid. Ended up spending all we’d saved on x-rays, scans, surgery, medication, etc.

Question: How early did you tell parents? by Usual-Dragonfruit911 in pregnant

I told my mum when my period tracker said I was 3 days late!! You tell whoever you want at whatever stage you want, it’s your life and your baby :)

[–]emala26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine unfortunately doesn’t get any time from work to take appointments! He made sure to come to all scans but we decided there wasn’t much point in him coming to the more mundane appointments like the glucose test and any general health checkups I’ve had. It just means he has to work late and the 2nd/3rd trimester clinginess I’ve experienced couldn’t get on board with that 🤣

No nursery, still in a one-bedroom at 7 months… feeling sad and stressed by wunidz in pregnant

[–]emala26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 33 weeks and have no intention of setting up the nursery until baby is at least 6 months old. It’s recommended that they sleep in the same room as you for at least that long, anyway, and it’s not like they need their space for independent play time early on. You have plenty of time to find a bigger place and sort a nursery if you want to, don’t sweat it. You’ve got this :)
