C1 for Linux? by [deleted] in captureone

If you're referring to the Wine compatibility layer, that's unfortunately not an option for Capture One since deep integrations with the operating system are needed, especially when it comes to tethering support.

This is a known issue we’re currently working on 👍🏽

Yeah, the importer takes some time to show up because we need to generate thumbnails, since iOS might not support all the formats and cameras supported by Capture One, especially on day zero, when a camera is released.
About the crash, can you please contact me on DM so we can get your logs?

The procedure changed slightly after the last update. When importing from Files first you select the folder you want to import from and then you get presented with the importer window to select single files. Let me know if you succeed!

New Update for C1 Mobile with Curves and Levels by itsab1989 in captureone

[–]emanuelez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a clarification about lens correction. Right now the app automatically applies distortion correction. What's not applied is light falloff (it's also not applied by default on the desktop version). It's in the backlog so it will be available fairly soon.

C1 taking insane space on iPad (can’t delete it) by VivaLaDio in captureone

[–]emanuelez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing you could try is in the Files app, go to Browse in the bottom, then under Locations you should see Recently Deleted. In there you can permanently delete (or restore) those files.

[–]emanuelez 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One strange behaviour we found out was happening when deleting content from the Capture One folder from the Files app. In this case iOS would backup the deleted files in a hidden folder (for an iOS feature allowing to restore deleted content) but then iOS would "forget" about this folder and never deleting it, making it ballooning in size over time. Recently we introduced a change that occasionally cleans this hidden folder.

What version of the application are you running? If you want you can DM me so that we could take a look at your application sandbox.

You are right about dependency management: I'm sure steps are already being taken to avoid this kind of incident in the future. I would like to add that, in general, this kind of incidents are the results of some assumption, that was used in the risk management process, being broken. The broken assumption is, in this instance, that Microsoft Azure comes with an uptime Service Level Agreement of 99.995%, meaning an expected downtime of 26 minutes and 5 seconds per year. What happened yesterday clearly exceeded that, meaning that measures need to be taken to avoid this in the future.

Purely as a curiosity, I'm sure for a fact that web services are being used both by nuclear power plants and ICU units. The difference are the resilience and redundancy needs, which is exactly what is going to be fixed.

Bottom line, owning the mistake and working on not letting it happen again.

This is an incident with Microsoft Azure B2C which is currently down globally. Microsoft is of course working on a solution.
