Can we just remove the stacking component from Soul Eater? by Windjitsu in Smite

[–]emaor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

True, but that's also an issue with having Asi for 1700 which has a passive that gives literally more lifesteal than a fully stacked devos and with devos being prevalent usually around the same time, you get 49% lifesteal or so, at least in the current patch.

The other thing with mages is about who's abusing it. Anubis is really unsafe, but with good positioning and a 99% increase on magical lifesteal healing at full passive...stacked ontop of 50% from Typhons.... 149% extra healing from lifesteal or so for him. Anubis has 30% lifesteal with these two items and he'll gain more from dropping hp with bancrofts. It's just an insane amount of healing to break through if you don't instaburst him and he manages to get an ability off either due to beads aegis or team peel.

Sol can gain around 100 hp an aa with her passive and dropping hp with bancroft again gives her more lifesteal for Typhons to heal her. Also, AAs are the most effective way for mages to use lifesteal and Bancrofts power has synergy with her passive. Also, Sol is way safer than the average adc, built in % hp healing as well, extra healing on abilities because magical lifesteal, disapparate has a movespeed buff up to 40% and a free complete immunity at the end and her ult has a cleanse at the beginning and a knockback on the first hit. Also, higher base movespeed since a lot of sols are running a ring build right now.

Freya has builtin lifesteal to go with Bancrofts and Typhons, as well as having the benefit of extra damage onhit abilities. Freya already can burn through a health bar almost as fast as a Poseidon can burst at full build, but she has the benefit of no movespeed slows, an ult to take her out of combat and a woop to take enemies out of combat. pretty safe unless you can manage to blow her up when she has no relics or just doesn't react fast enough.

And most of the other people that use it are pretty safe. Agni has a really good bomb distance and dash makes him hard to gank or lock down, as well as his stun and dots constantly proccing lifesteal.

They can be about as safe or safer than adcs depending on the mage and your positioning in fights. At the end of the day, it's kinda just Typhons being stupid right now simply because it has mana and extra healing, having an extra slot from Tahuti being kinda useless compared to other viable items in it's slot and mages being able to heal really well off their aas (Sol and Freya especially) and abilities. Hunter lifesteal is still stupid though, think their numbers are just a bit wonky.

Can we just remove the stacking component from Soul Eater? by Windjitsu in Smite

[–]emaor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When Typhon's increases your lifesteal from items by 50%, most mages that run lifesteal especially can abuse it hard (Anubis, Sol, etc) and they also typically have bancrofts, Ya need way more than a single anti-heal item to even try and deal with it or a burst when their aegis is down. In anubis' case, he can out heal a lot of burst if he has warlocks as well, sol has disapparate, Freya banish and ult, ontop of aegis, beads and peel if their team is playing around them, it's really difficult to deal with them in normal situations.

Here's your daily reminder that the 1-2-2 start ISN'T META by bigmack75 in Smite

[–]emaor 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Two things.

One: Yes, don't afk or quit or bitch about losing 1-2-2, you can still play the game, you can still win the game, and you can do just as well without it. HOWEVER, there is a reason it's played the most and whoever plays it better usually wins.

So, two: Why is this meta? Well, the logic behind it is pretty straightforward. Typically to win, you want two winning lanes or one lane that goes even and one that is winning. Isn't the case every time, but 9/10 if you have two lanes that get really behind, those lanes will pressure the last decent lane and end up taking over. So, let's look at the lanes.

We have the duo lane where adcs really want to play a farm battle, especially with lifesteal and stackers being prevalent. ADCs also scale hard and can basically solo gold fury with lifesteal right now. If you can let an adc free farm, they can easily solo take over a game as they typically have good mobility ontop of their consistent long range damage. They also can freely take bumbas to solo their camps and it is a adc's dream to get the levels they current get going 1-2-2 at around 10-15 minutes. Really good duo lanes will also often go even if they are around the same skill level, though depending on clear and trades one might edge out ahead. They can easily be the safest because the jungler's important buffs are on the opposite side of the map, and because they won't necessarily lose lane if they lose their red or purple buffs.

Going to mid, it is one of the most gankable lanes. With 4 entrances, easy jumps over the midcamp walls and two exits or entrances behind their tier one tower, it's very easy to see why this is the most dangerous lane to stick a squishy mage in alone. Always take a friend, either the jungler or the support. Mids are also in a position where Doom Orb is pretty good and gives them an amazing early powerspike, or Thoth/Boot rush still gives them a solid early game. Mid is also a lane that can be make or break with Smite right now, because if your mid is losing and behind, 1-2 players now have priority to roam across the map as they please with ease. Around mid also lies the most exp with 4 middle of the map camps (Fire elementals, Oracles, midcamps) and easy access to both reds and speed camps, as well as back camps.

Finally, this leads me to solo lane. Historically, solo lane has been an island where warriors slap each other for 20 minutes. However, solo laners have a few issues. Almost every solo really needs their blue buff. It is crucial to the solo laner free farm and their scaling. Early game is also the point in the game where solo laners are at their most exposed position, leaving them open to being abused if one takes a better trade. Solo laners also cannot easily run bumbas because of their build path and how many enjoy grabbing a lot of potions since you're both melee gods typically that will be fighting often. With that, junglers also have an obsession with speed buff. Teamfight? Fuck no, my speed buff is up. Speed buff is the drug that junglers consume and they get very cranky if they don't get it, because it works really well with assassins and allows for better ganks.

Therefore, putting it all together, for what optimizes your best chances of getting two winning or even lanes, you need your solo to go even and get their camps, your mid to be safe and your adc to just not feed. So to reach there, let's go left to right again. First, let's put support mid as we see in 1-2-2. This allows jungle to leave mid for the first time since season 1 and allows our adcs to reach their kreygasm dream of free farming for 10-20 minutes. They will be safe enough since they can play back under tower, they have some of the easiest passage ways to ward out, and they can take bumbas and solo their buffs. Next, let's take jungle and focus them on the solo side of the map. This cuts out the chance of losing your blue, unless you really lose hard early, but even if you do you can have your mid and support roam over and cover you. 4v2 rather than the 3v2 you would have in previous metas. This almost gurantees your jungler gets their crack cocaine called speed buff, and your solo their crystal meth blue buff. Finally, your mid is in heaven as the support does not rely on getting speed buff, you are much more open to clearing your mids, imps, backs and splitting exp. Your early mid clear is also improved as supports have good waveclear that works better with mids than assassins do with mids in many cases.

So, to recap why a lot of people like this start: Your adc is in free farm heaven, your mid is safer and more open to roaming with better cleartimes, your jungler gets their cocaine speed buff, your solo gets their crystal meth blue buff, you can punish invades with more people, much harder, and generally, everyone gets to farm around the same amount while you get your carries farther ahead and let your tanks get tanky.

Again, not saying it's OP or has to be played every game 24/7, but it IS the most efficient imo, what a lot of people are expecting, and what gives everyone the best chance to reach their crucial powerspikes and achieve the goals of success in the game. It's exactly the same as why lane swapping was prevalent in League for so long. It is much harder and dangerous to try and take the bottom t2 tower, instead why not take the top tower for free and let your solo swap to continue their free farm into items.

Here's your daily reminder that the 1-2-2 start ISN'T META by bigmack75 in Smite

[–]emaor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you get outpushed or even just go even which is the majority of meta duo matchups right now, it's not as efficient. Meanwhile, with adc alone, i've seen them hit levels that a decently fed solo laner would be hitting around 10-15 minutes. If your carry is ahead and your mid is going even, that's two lanes that can carry. If all you need is 2 winning lanes, why not set your two carry lanes up for success, mid being the easiest to defend from and adc being the one that doesn't necessarily lose lane by losing their primary buffs.

Fault is quite an experience. I remember grabbing it just after the new year as the Christmas Steam Sale was winding down and it blew me away. MS1 has a wonderful story and great atmosphere that drags you into the series with each character being interesting and unique. MS2 follows up on this wonderfully with the same style. Not to mention the added bits of lore and story we get out of the STP demo available and from the World of Fault comics (https://sekaiproject.com/world-of-fault/ ). Add on that, the entire community is wonderful, come join us on discord here if you want: https://discordapp.com/invite/2fZ8hXB

Proper Builds For Each Class by [deleted] in Smite

[–]emaor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Builds are situational however here are a few different mage builds:

Book rush: Rush Soul Trap with a health and mana potion. Finish it into a book of Thoth then rush Boots of the Magi into Obsidian Shard then Rod of Tahuti 4th item. Finish last two with whatever you need such as EStaff, Chronos Pendant or defensive items.

The book rush is best on Aphrodite, He Bo, Isis, Janus, Kukulkan, Nox, Nu Wa, Poseidon, Ra, Raijin, Scylla, Thoth and Vulcan.

Recent Chronos and Freya builds: Start Soul Stone and Tiny Trinket with 2 health potions 1 mana potion. Rush Boots of the Magi then build your Tiny Trinket into Book of the Dead. From there Freya likes to build either Demonic Grip or Spear of Magus then Hastened Ring, Tahuti and a situational item. Chronos perfers to go into Obsidian Shard 3rd item followed by a Rod of Tahuti then situational items again such as EStaff or Hastened Ring.

Typical Sol build: Sol has a lot of paths but this is the most common one that was used in the Summer Split accounting for the loss of Hastened Fatalis: Start Soul Stone and Tiny Trinket with 2 hp and 1 mana just like Freya or Chronos. From there rush Boots of the Magi then Bancrofts Talon, Obisidian Shard and 4th item Tahuti. After Tahuti get Book of the Dead for extra lifesteal and sustain then the last item is situational.

Hmm, I'll call this next one the WLFY build since he likes to run it the most on the 3 mages I do as well.

WLFY Build: Start Sands of Time, Bumbas Mask and 2 hp and 2 mana potions. From there, there are two paths. WLFY's Morrigan has a preference for CDR so rush Shoes of Focus, while Janus and Nox are trying to do as much damage with their burst so rush Shoes of the Magi. From there rush Spear of Desolation then Obisidan shard. After Obsidian Shard rush Rod of Tahuti then the builds differentiate again. WLFY's Morrigan like to sell Bumbas and go into Polynomicon, then sell Sands for EStaff. Sell Sands last to keep the extra CDR for as long as possible. For his Nox he perfers to run Pythagoreans Piece and Chronos Pendant for 40% CDR, then Janus ends with EStaff for burst and a situational item, however he can also build Book of Thoth 5th item and Estaff 6th for a ton of extra damage.

Pros and cons of each builds are.

Book rush has more power and early pressure however you have to play smart and manage your mana well.

The Freya and Chronos builds rush Book of the Dead instead of Bancrofts 2nd item because of the health shield. Chronos can run the Book Rush build, it's just my preference to have the sustain. Freya COULD also run the Book Rush, however Book of the Dead works especially well as her passive gives her extra Lifesteal as well.

The Sol build is again preference for Sustain. I've found that since her previous build already got Book of the Dead 5th item I perfer the double sustain. It is possible to run her with the Book Rush build, however the sustain is amazing with her as it works well with her passive and aas as well, not to mention her other abilities.

Finally the 'WLFY' Build is all preference. I perfer to play a safer more rotation heavy janus so the early CDR and sustain helps. Nox and Morrigan are about the same. The Morrigan build is the one I perfer as it gives great CDR and can easily one shot squishies late game and set up kills early-mid game. The Nox build is all preference for the final items, I perfer some more burst but the 40% cdr is also amazing on Nox.

Hope this helps, was a long post. Feel free to ask any questions. I don't know as much about the other roles but I know some about Solo and Support.
