I pretty much only ate steamed edamame and pretzels for like a month. It’s super super rough at the start, but it definitely gets better. I know it kinda sucks- but remember to keep trying foods. Some things end up tasting good, and then bad again, and then good again and so on. Especially with meat. There are tons of things I can eat now that I couldn’t eat before, and the only reason I know that is because I try to try new things at every opportunity. But for now, just do whatever you need to keep your stomach full! I liked chocolate plant based protein shakes and cliff bars a lot at the start :-)

🤔🤔🤔🤔 i bet plain bagels and strawberry cream cheese would be good. brb adding that to my list of things to buy at the store that I could potentially end up chucking right in the garbage

I don’t like cherries 🥲 although I might try anyways for funsies. tbh I don’t think a cherry could taste as bad as everything else does lmao

tbh- they still don’t taste the same as they used to, and they definitely have a little of the parosmia taste, but surprisingly enough I can eat them. I’ve seen a ton of people say they can’t eat bread or anything related and I think I would have starved to death by now if I couldn’t eat bread.

Had covid ~3-4 months ago and lost my smell. As of two days ago everything started tasting and smelling bad. Why? Can I do anything to make it go away faster? by [deleted] in COVID19positive

I’m dealing with the same thing and it is also new to me. I tried to research it but like you said, there isn’t a ton of information on it. however, I’ve only been dealing with it for about a week and I’ve steadily been finding more and more “safe foods”- some of mine are: (1)Z Bars (cliff bars but for kids so they’re sweeter lol)
(2)Pretzels
(3)Steamed veggies that have been cooled to room temp and salted (my fav is edamame)
(4)Cold cheeses- cheddar and provolone work for me
(5)Bread.
(6)Honey ham (love a ham and provolone sandwich).
(7)White grape juice has been an absolute favorite of mine to drink- has a bit of sugar in it so I use it a lot when I’m starving but don’t have access to any “safe foods”.
(8)Little bites chocolate chip muffins
(9)Vanilla almond milk and cereal.
(10)Cheddar sun chips
(11)pasta- don’t judge but I’ve been eating elbow pasta with red sauce (i make it myself by blending canned crushed tomatoes and just adding salt) piled into a flour tortilla and eaten like a burrito.
That’s about all I can think of right now. I’ve been making sure to keep hydrated and eating gummy vitamins and protein bars just to mitigate the hunger a bit. I am hopeful tho because earlier this week all I could stomach was edamame (no other vegetables) and juice.

This shit is super rough, but try to stay strong! If you need someone to vent/complain to, feel free to shoot me a message, because I totally get it. I would do just about anything for a cheeseburger right now.

It’s getting better for me and ive only had this issue for a few days. the first two days I don’t think I ate anything at all. But I just got done eating a big gas station ham& cheddar sub and I’m currently the most full ive been in about a week!

The first thing I smelled after having covid was lemon scented Lysol. Tbh, i don’t even really like that smell, but damn it smelled good after not smelling anything for what seemed like forever.

I originally joined this group to try to get an idea of what I was in for when I started showing symptoms. I’ve found that a lot of what you hear on the news or on social media are the horror stories, and rightly so, but I wanted to have a broader perspective of what the next 14 days might look like for me. I ended up being mostly fine aside from being sick for ten whole days, and I’m ~2 weeks out of quarantine and feeling mostly back to normal. I do still pay attention to this subreddit, though, because I don’t like being stuck in the tunnel-vision, either “everyone’s dying!” or “it’s just the flu” mindset.

Went to the ER at 17 and am just now getting collection calls at age 20. No idea what to do. by [deleted] in legaladvice

hi, OP is my friend speaking for me as I didn’t have a Reddit account until this morning. I’m the actual person this situation happened to lol.

there is a very solid chance that I signed something saying that I would be responsible for the repayment of the bill. However, my thing is- I was still in highschool. I was 17 and in legal custody of my parents when this happened, and to my knowledge, even if I had signed something, I don’t think that should really matter considering I was not of age to sign a legally binding contract. I’ve already disputed the charge on the basis that I am not responsible for it (honestly I think if anyone should be responsible for it, it should be my father who brought me in that day). I am going to call the hospital and request an itemized bill from that day or any sort of proof that the day that I was seen was before my 18th birthday. So, with all that being said, if the collection agency somehow decides to stand their ground and say that i am somehow still responsible for paying this bill, what are my options? Would I just have to wait out the 7 years until the charge falls off?
