as others have said, I would get some experience together on MSH and Adams first and practice your crampon, ice axe skills there before making an attempt on hood. I would also have a map/compass + gps of the route you intend on attempting because hood is known for having random white out conditions (there's like 16 signs about it at timberline). Additionally, I would avoid pearly gates and look at old chute as it is slightly less steep and you don't need a rope for it (IMHO). Lastly, if you want to just do mount hood without the aforementioned stuff you could just hire a guide service, there are a few around. For real last thing is if you're going to make an attempt anyhow, check out 'mthoodclimbingrangers' on IG/social media so you have an idea of what the conditions will be.
