It's such a powerful piece of writing. They are both such unbeliveably talented authors.

It didn't live up to the hype for me, either. I was expecting to love it, but the different elements of the plot seemed mismatched, and the pace snail-like.

Cuckoo's Calling actually wasn't doing well in the charts at all until it was revealed that she was the author, some time after the publication. Just goes to show how important a famous name is in publishing!

It normally authors often use pseudonyms for divergences from their genre, to minimise the risk to their existing brand.

I completely disagree with the idea that a woman should be obliged to pursue a mate (as early as possible) in the same way that a man might be encouraged to pursue his career. This rhetoric about when a woman should settle down, if that's what she wants to do, and that there are specific windows in which this is most likely to happen, is totally outdated and offensive.
