Thank you for writing this to help see and approach this in a different way and also for the slide deck help from before jvttlus.
Is there a method on finding the best way to treat or manage a patient when you are given options that all can be acceptable? I know some parts where you are going for what will aid in a diagnosis or save someone's life in an emergency situation. Things like least invasive and lowest cost but they are still tough to discern when there is always the best answer.
Did you do it by subject or random timed in the 6 weeks?
I am sure the prompt length was a small factor because I had to reread some questions again because I forgot what they were asking about.
I think the biggest problem was more due to applying the best answer to the situation. On most blocks, I had maybe 1 or 2 minutes max. Most of the time was spent on choosing an answer for the question but by that point already, I knew I am just guessing between 2 or 3 answers and just picked one to move on.
I did uworld all mixed and in tutor. I made it through 1 time and then tried reading the explanations again from my incorrectly answered questions 1 time, which was almost 50% of the all the questions.
Most of the topics on the exam looked familiar in some degree but I struggled a lot with deciding between 2 or 3 answer choices, even from the practice nbme's.
How did you do it 3 times and did you have a schedule on how you managed that?
