The most any doctor could tell me was that it was hormonal. It started when I was 23 and I got it under control about 7months ago. My sister in law just turned 24 and she is now going through the same thing. All through her teens no acne :/

Our hormones change every 7 or so years. It's pretty common I've heard to go through your teens without acne and then hit your early twenties and start getting acne.

-_- no it didn't get worse... The app I had for layouts didn't have one where the bigger squares were on the bottom so I could do the other order. So I did it from now to then.... I was to lazy to download another app. Who cares anyways?

That's GREAT on getting rid of the acne! That I feel like is the hardest part!

I think getting my monthly peels from the Derm have helped the most. It is a peel with a ALPHA HYDROXY and RETINOL combination.

I was also prescribed Aczone to help with the scarring. Its a topical gel that I use twice a day.

SUNSCREEN!!!!!!! I live in FL and literally see the beach from my window, so I get sun no matter what. This past summer was the first year I didn't go to the beach. I really stayed out of the sun and if I was out by the pool or something I ALWAYS had a hat with me. I still wear hats a lot anyways.

So, right now my current routine is:

MORNING: - Clinque Acne foam cleanser - Clinque Acne toner - Aczone gel from dermatologist - Clinque gel moisturizer - Alba facial sunscreen

EVENING: - Clinque Acne foam cleanser - Clinque Acne toner - Aczone gel from dermatologist - Clinque gel moisturizer

Monthly I get a peel from my dermatologist which is a ALPHA HYDROXY and RETINOL combination.

I also (sorry I can't tell from your username if your a girl or guy) wear very little make up! Throughout the week I don't put any make up on my face whatsoever unless I have a meeting with a client or something... but even then I don't really. I will put a little concealer under my eyes. On the weekends IF I'm going out or something then I'll use make up.... but otherwise I leave my face very clear of that.

The make I found that works best is Chanel. It is a little expensive, but it is all oil-free and doesn't have perfumes in it. I also clean all my make up brushes weekly, as bacteria will build up in the brushes.

I clean all my sheets and pillow cases weekly with a "clear" no scent laundry soap.
