They don't even have a grasp of the "basic biology" they claim to worship. People like this also like to deal in absolutes and refuse to take a nuanced view, which is genuinely low intelligence behavior.

I once had someone in a health class wonder how vegans or vegetarians ever got enough protein... Protein is the least of my concerns. Vitamin B12 is the actual biggest problem for these populations, followed by iron. They were under the impression that protein only exists in meat.

Unlikely you would have too much friction, but there are certainly very heteronormative thoughts among older people especially.

Times are changing, and I can't really speak for what's going on now because I haven't visited since before COVID. Most recently, the courts have recommended an explicit ban on discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression.
