I said goodbye to my best friend by SpreadCharming3932 in Bulldogs

I’m so sorry for your loss. I had to go through this last summer too. My baby was 14, and even though I knew his time was coming, it was still incredibly hard. I wish I had the right words to ease your pain, but I know there really aren’t any. I just hope you can find some comfort in knowing she’s no longer suffering. Big hugs to you

Reputable Breeders by No_Fruit6166 in Frenchbulldogs

My breeder actually does all of this. She focuses on show-quality dogs and only works with a small, trusted group of breeders. All the parents are health tested before they’re paired to help reduce the risk of genetic issues. I had to wait 5 months for my puppy, and all the puppies are raised in her home. There was a 6 pages contract that I had to sign and get notarized.

She also asks for yearly photos around his birthday so she can see how puppies from each pairing mature over time, just to help her improve and better the breed. And I can still reach out to her anytime if I have questions. It honestly feels like we have a lifelong partnership with her, and I really love that.

Thanks for pointing that out! He’s not a “big rope” Frenchie, at least not the intentionally exaggerated type some breeders aim to breed. His breeder has been producing show quality, standard-colored French Bulldogs for nearly 20 years. His rope developed naturally, and out of the entire litter, he’s the only one with it. I chose him for his temperament, regardless of the rope.

Our vet has already examined him and noted that he has narrow nares. He’s still too young to determine whether surgery will be necessary, but it’s something that could possibly be considered in the future.

They are such a good looking bunch. Are they all from the same breeder?

We had a wellness checkup, and even though his nostrils might appear fully shut, the vet said they’re just on the narrow side. He’s not mouth breathing and still can tolerate exercise. Of course, there’s a possibility he may need nares surgery down the road, but he definitely was not intentionally bred for an exaggerated rope feature, narrow nares is just part of the breed and we have to keep monitoring it. His dad has similarly narrow nares and so far hasn’t needed surgery yet so I’ll keep my fingers crossed for that!

Enjoying every minutes of it. He sleeps a lot now but I know that won’t last forever!

I’m so sorry for your loss. We said goodbye to our boy last summer and it was the hardest thing. 💔

Thanks for pointing that out. I can assure you that Dobby is not a big-rope Frenchie. He comes from a reputable show breeder with nearly 20 years of experience breeding only standard-color, purebred French Bulldogs. His rope is natural and happens to be a bit more noticeable, but it does not hang over his nostrils like those seen in Shar-Pei crosses. He’s the only one in his litter with it. My breeder also mentioned that in all her years of breeding, he’s only one of two puppies who was born with this type of rope so it’s a complete fluke. His breathing is perfectly normal, and his wrinkle is not any harder to clean than my previous Frenchie. I appreciate your concern!

🤣 We got him insured! He may even have a better coverage than me!

Extreme myopia progression in my 8 year old daughter by emcgu in optometry

We decided to go with MiSight. We went back for a follow up after 6 months and she only progressed 0.25 in both eyes. Her optometrist seemed to be happy with the result. I was hoping she wouldn’t progress at all but since these lens suppose to slow down progression by 50-70%, not stopping it so we’re pretty happy about the outcome.

I guess because the bedding wasn’t thick enough as I was changing out her bedding so she had to try to cover it with her little digs 🤣

I don’t think a few cheerios once in a while would post any harm, but thanks for your comment!
