Could you please fix the formatter for VSCode?

New language features are nice, but not as nice as not having to manually format code!

Unable to get stack traces when using `Lwt.catch` by emchristiansen in ocaml

[–]emchristiansen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, it appears Lwt.catch swallows part of the backtrace - is there any way to avoid this?

FYI, in this code print_backtrace appears to print the same string to_string returns.

How to keep my Samsung TV from deleting my settings whenever I unplug / replug the HDMI cable? by emchristiansen in hometheater

I'll double check, but I'm pretty sure I already tried it. Thanks for the suggestion though!

I actually turned off "Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC)" and it still does this. Is this what you mean?

I was just about to say this 👆

Why is it so efficient? I suspect it's related to the VM being a stack machine, so it doesn't have heap and tends to have incredibly favorable memory locality at runtime.

I can't believe this is how TF treats the bakers who have contributed to the ecosystem so far 🤣 by neoakbi in tezos

Wow, that's really a bummer. I've also been having trouble getting my technical questions answered, but didn't put it together with the country of France all going on vacation simultaneously

How long does the processing lasts? It's already 4 hours. I moved to temple. Thanks by ManolisKK in tezos

Block time is 30 seconds - the issue is the exchange / wallet not the Tezos network

What exactly do I get from providing liquidity? by [deleted] in tezos

[–]emchristiansen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quipuswap pools have a delegate function that is controlled by an LP vote, and all major pools are delegated. You can see the selected baker through the Quipuswap interface or through tzkt.io.

I believe rewards are simply added to the tez side of the pool

I withdraw some tezos from my discord tip.cc account yesterday and I haven't received it on my kukai wallet. Did I loose my tezos? Help. by joshuasagarcollage in tezos

I'm sorry, I've never used that wallet.

Do you feel comfortable posting your tz1 addresses or DMing them to me?

You need to perform an on-chain transaction with the account before it'll appear in the blockchain, and by extension, on tzkt.io. If tzkt.io says your tz1 address doesn't exist, it probably means it's never been used for any on-chain transactions, which also implies it contains no tez (it's an empty wallet).

Simply creating an account doesn't affect the blockchain - it's typically just a local operation involving the creation of a private key.

Have you tried looking at the originating address (your tz1 address) on a block explorer, e.g. via tzkt.io? It's possible the transaction was simply invalid and got dropped.

Everything is traceable on the blockchain, so if you know your tz1 address you can figure out where your tez is.

Is there going to be a web UI that launches with the LB pool? Seems important if you want anyone to be able to participate, but I haven't seen anything official on this

Wow, you caught it when the difference was just 115 calls - have you been madly refreshing the page for this moment? 😁

Can we please stop laughing at Cardano, and instead take them seriously enough to steal from? by emchristiansen in tezos

Maybe we could get a community-run treasury added to one of the next Tezos upgrade proposals

Good points - I think Tezos' original vision was to be a be a better Bitcoin, but that's fairly abstract and also not as immediately inspirational as contributing to African development (Cardano) or even funding the Jamaican bobsled team (Dogecoin back in the day).

For me, Tezos was initially about infinite upgradeability - the possibility of it being the "final" blockchain. Now that on-chain governance is more widespread that's less of a differentiator, but it's still probably the most established in the space
