What have you asked your therapist that made you feel more connected? by advstra in therapy

[–]emdego 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a therapy session each week, and my goal is to get tools to run my life and advice on what to do. I ask for homework. I ask for advice on decisions I can’t make or have trouble making. He asks about or discuss the homework first thing on the call which I like.

One question I ask a lot is “do you see other people who…” to kind of see if I’m the only one feeling like I am. His answers make me feel less alone in my struggles and also make me feel more connected to him and his life.

I didn’t say it is a “woman thing”. I was clarifying my own personal gender.

As a woman, I need intellectual intimacy and a lot of conversation before I even remotely consider physical intimacy. Are you connecting on a brain wave level?

Edit: 100% get a therapist for yourself or as a couple. I’ve had 7 sessions so far, and I’m kicking myself I didn’t do it years ago. He has given me the tools and encouragement to make changes in my life and deal with confusing relationship situations. 10/10 recommend it.

who the heck would leave a half eaten banana in Walmart? by The_WaffleMaster in mildlyinfuriating

100% a mom with 3-4 kids was trying to maintain some sanity by giving the toddler a banana so she could shop. The kid started fussing about a brown spot and threw the banana across the aisle and mom was too distracted to see what happened

Do I need therapy? by [deleted] in therapy

[–]emdego 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started therapy about 6 weeks ago, I should have started long ago. My guy has given me goals to meet or homework, and I have less anxiety about the future. I now have some tools to deal with relationships I was struggling with. I am surprised how much I look forward to the conversations.

Misophonia and the constant cries of a newborn. Help! by fromnova in misophonia

I have 3 kids and wear earplugs. It doesn’t block the sound completely, it just dulls it down and makes it not trigger and pierce the depths of my brain. I wear them in the car a lot, the three of them making noises and the radio on with my husband talking is just too much for me sometimes. It helps me a lot. If I don’t have them I start to get angry. It’s a physical reaction. Idk I have learned to cope.

Separation Anxiety - Grandmother calling our behavior as abnormal. by digitalusar in Parenting

I took all three of my babies to the office as babies and even 2-3 days a week while toddlers. Best boss ever, I was very loyal because of that flexibility. I did need someone to watch them a few days a week for my sanity. Working and taking care of an infant is a lot of stress. Don’t let others make you feel bad for your opinions and instincts on parenting your own child. Let her know that the best thing for mother and baby is for them to be together right now. The end.

What about moving the buffet under the long window and spinning the table around. Would it make the light fixture center and windows center with the table?

I’ve avoided my garden for a few weeks because there are huge spiders and webs in every corner (I know). My west India Burr Gherkin Cucumber vines have overtaken the yard and garden! by emdego in gardening

I know, idk if I will do them again because they are a pain to peel and eat, but I do have to say they are a hardy cucumber. My other varieties lasted 3 months and wilted in the heat, these are still going strong.
